LHH is helping a large Texas law firm seek a Construction Litigation Legal Assistant to work on-site at their downtown Dallas office. This candidate will primarily be the litigation support for the Construction Law Team and will be supporting up to 4 individuals.
Benefits:
- Salary ranges from $65,000 - $90,000 DOE
- Parking is paid for by the firm
- Discretionary year-end bonus based on tenure
- Employee-only Premiums for Medical Insurance is fully paid for by the firm
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of on-the-job experience necessary to perform complex administrative duties in a professional setting.
- Background in construction litigation, especially withliens
- Open to general commercial litigation backgrounds
- Must have experience supporting/defending businesses
- No personal injury backgrounds
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work across multiple attorney needs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Team & Structure:
- Will directly support 4 individuals
- Works within a pod system:
- Assigned to a primary group of attorneys
- Also supports other attorneys firmwide through a ticketing system (ARC) for overflow tasks
- Current open roles due to:
- Internal promotion into a paralegal position (growth opportunity)
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of legal billing software (preferably Aderant)
- Ability to type at a level of 70 WPM
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail with superior proofreading abilities
- Working knowledge of creating and editing legal documents
- Strong understanding of the county and state court systems
- Ability to successfully work in a fast-paced environment
