Position Overview

Located at our state-of-the-art facility in Houston, TX, you will work alongside an inspiring team to manage diverse and complex medical needs. Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain complete medical history and physical data from patients to aid in precise diagnosis and personalized care plans.
  • Interpret and integrate data, determining appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Conduct thorough physical exams and meticulously record findings.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to manage the acute and long-term medical needs of patients.
  • Order and oversee laboratory and diagnostic procedures essential for patient evaluation.
  • Administer medications, injections, and perform minor procedures, including suturing lacerations.
  • Provide patient education and health advice, advocating preventive healthcare principles.
  • Recommend community resources to support patients and families in meeting their healthcare needs.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure documentation is in compliance with medical and legal standards.
  • Provide telephone triage and medical consultations as needed, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Escalate and manage medical and surgical emergencies appropriately.
  • Participate in Performance Improvement Programs and professional development activities, maintaining affiliations.
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines to protect patient confidentiality and information security.
  • Engage actively in required meetings and contribute to committees and pilot projects.
Essential Qualifications
  • Licensed in Texas as an MD or DO, with an active DEA license.
  • A successful graduate of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited residency or fellowship in OB/GYN.
  • Current certification in OB/GYN by the ABOG or AOBOG, evidencing written and oral examination success.
  • Demonstrated competence in OB/GYN within the past 12 months, aligning with requested privileges.
  • Proficiency in Legacy Community Health's EPIC system and EMR platforms.
  • Prior experience in a hospital and/or clinic setting, with comprehensive coding knowledge (ICD9, CPT, HCPCS).
  • Ability to communicate effectively within a diverse, interdisciplinary team while upholding the Legacy mission.
