Join our small, dedicated team as a Laboratory Technician, where you will play a key role in receiving and processing a variety of human biospecimens to support biobanking, clinical trials, and research studies. You will ensure accurate sample preparation and data entry using OpenSpecimen, maintaining high standards even during time sensitive workloads. This is a great opportunity for someone who is detail oriented, reliable, and committed to quality in every aspect of their work.
Your responsibilities- Processing biospecimens using established protocols for clinical use, clinical trial enrolment or research purposes
- Retrieving, preparing and providing biospecimens to relevant personnel for clinical use, clinical trial enrollment and research under the supervision of the manager and coordinator
- Performing data entry of patient/sample details as required using OpenSpecimen
- Ensuring reagents are stocked, including preparation of buffers and clinical trial materials
- Operating and maintaining laboratory instrumentation as required
- Certificate or Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent
- Experience with routine laboratory practices and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to work to a high standard and speed during times of stress and high volume workload
- Well developed computer skills, including data entry, word processing and spreadsheets
- A highly trained eye with attention to detail
