As the Business Development Officer for Omni, you will play a key role in driving Omni's long-term growth and strategic positioning. Working within the small, corporate Business Development Cell you will support the Business Development Manager to identify, shape, and pursue opportunities that align with Omni's strategic direction.
Based in Canberra, with occasional domestic travel, you'll strengthen Omni's profile through trusted relationships across defence, government, and industry sectors, both in Australia and internationally. Internally, you'll collaborate closely with Omni's Business Divisions, Communications, Marketing, and Government Relations teams to build opportunity pipelines and contribute to the development of compelling proposals that drive commercial success.
Responsibilities- Identify, shape, and pursue opportunities that align with Omni's strategic direction.
- Support the Business Development Manager in developing opportunity pipelines and compelling proposals.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Business Divisions, Communications, Marketing, Government Relations) to strengthen Omni's profile with defence, government, and industry stakeholders.
- Contribute to commercial success through strategic business development activities.

- Ability to hold and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance (NV2 minimum)
- Have excellent communication, negotiation and relationship building skills
- Proven experience in business development or capture management within Australian defence, national security, critical infrastructure, or aerospace sectors
- Strong understanding of Commonwealth procurement, Defence contracting and capability lifecycle
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Engineering, International Relations, or related field
- Existing network within Defence and/or National Intelligence Community highly desirable
