Deliveroo

Senior Software Engineer (Fullstack) - Merchant EMEA

London, England

Our Global Structure Deliveroo is now part of DoorDash, bringing together teams with even greater reach, scale, and ambition. Depending on your role, you may collaborate with teammates, systems, and leaders across DoorDash and Wolt. Together, we’re unlocking new possibilities as one global team. Senior Fullstack Engineer (Go / Kotlin & React) About the Team Merchant EMEA Engineering builds the technology that helps merchants join, grow, and operate successfully across our markets. Our organization brings together the strengths of Wolt and Deliveroo and supports merchants across 37 countries. We work across the merchant journey, including onboarding, business growth and support, analytics and recommendations, menu and order management, integrations, and merchant applications. Our teams sit close to the business. Rather than primarily building foundational platforms, we build products and features on top of our existing platforms to solve real merchant and market needs, including local business requirements, growth opportunities, and operational challenges. 📍This open role is based in our tech hubs in Helsinki or Berlin . Please note: This role requires being based in Berlin/Helsinki on a hybrid basis. We are currently unable to offer fully remote work, visa sponsorship, or relocation support for this opportunity. What You'll Do As a Fullstack Engineer, you'll contribute to products and services used across the merchant experience. You'll: Build and maintain production software across backend services and user-facing applications. Work on areas such as merchant onboarding, analytics, recommendations, menu and order management, integrations, or merchant-facing tools. Develop reliable APIs, data models, services, and user-facing features. Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, operations, and other engineers to turn business needs into practical technical solutions. Own features from implementation through production and ongoing maintenance. Contribute to technical design discussions and improve the quality, scalability, observability, and maintainability of our systems. Use AI-assisted development tools effectively as part of your engineering workflow, while critically evaluating their output and taking ownership of the final solution. Be willing to work outside your primary area of expertise when needed to solve the problem end-to-end. How We Work Ownership: Engineers take responsibility for the features and services they work on, from development to production. Collaboration: We work closely across engineering, product, design, data, and operations. Pragmatism: We value simple and maintainable solutions that create business impact without unnecessary complexity. Flexibility: We care more about solving the problem than strict frontend or backend boundaries. Our Tech Stack Our backend services primarily use Go and Kotlin , while our frontend applications use technologies such as TypeScript and React . We also work with technologies including Kafka, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, gRPC, and modern cloud infrastructure. Our Humble Expectations We're looking for engineers who have: An AI-first mindset, with a deep experience in leveraging modern AI tools and solid engineering principles to solve problems end-to-end, independently of any specific technology stack. Proven experience building production software in backend, frontend, or fullstack environments end-to-end and at scale. Strong expertise in at least one area of the stack, with a willingness to contribute outside that area when needed. Experience with a modern backend language such as Go, Kotlin, Java, or similar, and/or modern frontend technologies such as TypeScript and React. Good understanding of APIs, databases, testing, and software design fundamentals. The ability to work independently on well-scoped problems and collaborate effectively with others. Good communication skills and a pragmatic, collaborative mindset. You do not need to be equally strong in frontend and backend. We welcome different balances of experience. You might be primarily a backend engineer who is comfortable making frontend changes when needed, or a frontend-focused engineer who is happy to work with APIs and backend services. What matters most is that you are comfortable working across boundaries to deliver the right solution. Nice to Have Experience in one or more of the following areas would be a plus: Merchant-facing or internal operational tools. Analytics, recommendations, or decisioning systems. Grocery, retail, restaurants, logistics, or marketplace technology. Integrations with external business systems. Kafka or other streaming technologies. Cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Kubernetes, or Docker. Why Join Us? You'll work on products that directly affect how merchants interact with Wolt, Deliveroo and DoorDash across Europe. The scope is broad and close to the business, giving you the opportunity to work on meaningful problems across different parts of the merchant journey while developing your skills across the stack. You can read more about our recruitment process here. here . We’re committed to fostering an environment where everyone can do their best work and feel they belong. Samsara

Sr. Software Engineer, Cloud Platform

Remote - London; United Kingdom

Who we are Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, which is a platform that enables organizations that depend on physical operations to harness Internet of Things (IoT) data to develop actionable insights and improve their operations. At Samsara, we are helping improve the safety, efficiency and sustainability of the physical operations that power our global economy. Representing more than 40% of global GDP, these industries are the infrastructure of our planet, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing — and we are excited to help digitally transform their operations at scale. Working at Samsara means you’ll help define the future of physical operations and be on a team that’s shaping an exciting array of product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, and Equipment Monitoring. As part of a recently public company, you’ll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term. About the role: As a Senior Engineer in the Infrastructure org, you will help evolve the cloud foundations behind every Samsara product. Your goal will be to reduce systemic production risk and enable continued growth by making infrastructure safer to change, easier to operate, and more resilient and cost-efficient at scale. You will bring deep expertise in at least one infrastructure domain, such as compute and workload orchestration, networking, storage and stateful systems, or cloud control planes, and apply it across our multi-account, multi-region AWS environment. You will lead work such as modernizing compute and stateful infrastructure, strengthening capacity and failure isolation, and building standardized infrastructure-as-code workflows and reusable automation. You will partner with product engineering teams to turn recurring risks and manual operations into durable platforms and paved paths. We do not expect you to be an expert in every infrastructure domain. We are looking for engineers who have built and operated critical systems at significant scale, understand how infrastructure fails, and can use that experience to improve both our platforms and our engineering practices. You should apply if: You want to impact the industries that run our world: The software, firmware, and hardware you build will result in real-world impact, helping to keep the lights on, get food into grocery stores, and most importantly, ensure workers return home safely. You are a life-long learner: We have ambitious goals. Every Samsarian has a growth mindset as we work with a wide range of technologies, challenges, and customers that push us to learn on the go. You believe customers are more than a number: Samsara engineers enjoy a rare closeness to the end user and you will have the opportunity to participate in customer interviews, collaborate with customer success and product managers, and use metrics to ensure our work is translating into better customer outcomes. You are a team player: Working on our Samsara Engineering teams requires a mix of independent effort and collaboration. Motivated by our mission, we’re all racing toward our connected operations vision, and we intend to win together. In this role, you will: Design, build, and operate reliable cloud platforms, bringing depth in one or more areas such as compute, networking, storage, stateful systems, or infrastructure control planes. Improve the scalability, capacity management, isolation, recovery, and cost efficiency of critical production infrastructure. Build standardized infrastructure-as-code workflows and reusable automation that support self-service provisioning, testing, progressive rollout, reconciliation, rollback, and drift prevention. Identify shared failure modes and build safeguards that prevent localized failures from escalating into broad customer impact. Contribute to multi-account, multi-region, and isolated AWS architectures, including regulated environments such as GovCloud. Participate in operational ownership and incident response, using incidents and near misses to drive durable architectural improvements. Mentor engineers, raise the quality of infrastructure design and operational judgment, and establish patterns that can be adopted across the organization. Clearly communicate architecture, trade-offs, risks, and migration plans to technical and organizational stakeholders. Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices. Minimum requirements for this role. 6+ years of experience designing and building software, infrastructure, or distributed systems, including operating critical systems in production. Deep expertise in at least one of the following: compute and workload orchestration, networking, storage and stateful systems, or cloud infrastructure control planes. Strong software-engineering fundamentals in Go, Python, Java, or a similar language. Hands-on experience designing and operating infrastructure on a major public cloud platform; AWS experience is preferred. Experience using infrastructure as code, such as Terraform, to safely manage production infrastructure. Strong understanding of capacity management, failure domains, observability, rollout safety, and production recovery. Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives across teams and through ambiguous problem spaces. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience An ideal candidate also has: Designing and operating large-scale compute or container platforms such as ECS, EKS, Kubernetes, or similar orchestration systems. Designing and operating stateful distributed systems such as Kafka, OpenSearch, managed databases, caching, or large-scale storage platforms. Building internal infrastructure platforms, control planes, or self-service developer experiences adopted across multiple teams. Designing multi-account or multi-region cloud architectures with strong workload isolation and disaster recovery. Leading major infrastructure migrations while maintaining availability and controlling operational risk. Delivering measurable improvements in infrastructure capacity, cost efficiency, or developer self-service. Total Rewards At Samsara, we build for the people who keep the global economy moving. We want owners, not passengers, which is why our rewards are designed to fuel high-impact builders. Our compensation program delivers above-market total compensation through a combination of base salary, performance-based bonus/variable pay, and equity (for eligible roles) in a high-growth public company. We meaningfully differentiate pay for our top performers, who have the opportunity to earn above-market compensation that can outpace the broader market over time. Beyond compensation, we provide the foundations that enable long-term success: a flexible, employee-led remote model, a professional development stipend, comprehensive health and parental leave plans, and more. If you’re ready to build for the long term and own the outcome, your journey starts here. Flexible Working At Samsara, we embrace a flexible working model that caters to the diverse needs of our teams. Our offices are open for those who prefer to work in-person and we also support remote work where it aligns with our operational requirements. For certain positions, being close to one of our offices or within a specific geographic area is important to facilitate collaboration, access to resources, or alignment with our service regions. In these cases, the job description will clearly indicate any working location requirements. Our goal is to ensure that all members of our team can contribute effectively, whether they are working on-site, in a hybrid model, or fully remotely. All offers of employment are contingent upon an individual’s ability to secure and maintain the legal right to work at the company and in the specified work location, if applicable. In this role, you’ll help us define and build purpose-built, highly differentiated shopping experiences across our growing portfolio of Retail categories. What You’ll Be Doing You’ll be joining the Retail Categories team. Retail only wins category by category; a single, generic shopping experience cannot do justice to the unique ways people buy apparel, auto parts, or home improvement goods. This role owns the end-to-end category shopping experience for a defined portfolio, transforming broad customer promises into shipped surfaces and distinct emotional hooks that drive habitual buying behavior. Here’s what your day-to-day might look like: Define Category Strategy: Formulate the category experience strategy and decide which categories and bets to invest in first, sequencing for maximum growth and impact. Execute Signature Product Bets: Translate each category's promise into concrete, testable product bets—such as personal-shopper features using doorstep returns for Apparel or fitment-accurate part lookup for Auto Parts—and ship them end to end. Optimise Category Surfaces: Own the category merchandising and storefront surfaces that differentiate one vertical from another while maintaining a cohesive and intuitive Retail experience. Leverage Platform Capabilities: Partner with shared platform infrastructure (such as doorstep returns or fulfillment) to build bespoke category experiences without rebuilding core infrastructure. Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner deeply with BD, Sales, Catalog, and Search teams to ensure category surfaces are powered by accurate data and align cleanly with merchant relationships. Measure Impact: Use data, customer insight, and experimentation to prioritise initiatives, define success metrics, and directly move the needle on conversion and repeat purchases. What You’ll Need to Thrive Essential Proven Consumer Product Experience: Demonstrated success in product management on consumer-facing products, ideally within e-commerce, marketplaces, or multi-sided platforms. Track Record of 0-to-1 Innovation: Proven ability to ship brand-new or highly differentiated shopping experiences, navigating ambiguity to break broad opportunities into focused, testable bets. Strong Analytical Capabilities: Comfort driving data-informed prioritisation, establishing robust success metrics, and utilising experimentation to measure category-level impact. Stakeholder & Business Partnership: Experience partnering closely with cross-functional product teams (Engineering, Design, Analytics) as well as commercial teams like BD and Sales to align business needs with product strategy. Customer-Obsessed Product Instinct: A natural intuition for customer behaviour, understanding what makes a shopping experience feel right and how to design the emotional hook that drives retention. Nice to Have Specialised Retail Domain Knowledge: Prior experience working with merchandising, category management, product detail pages (PDP), or specialised shopping flows. Data Structure Familiarity: Experience working alongside Catalog or Search product areas to power front-end surfaces with complex item data. Why Join Us? At Deliveroo, you’ll do work that matters, solving real-world problems in a three-sided marketplace that’s constantly evolving. We’re food lovers, problem solvers, community builders and more, brought together by a shared drive to make things better. Deliveroo

Senior Product Manager, Core People Technology

London, United Kingdom - Deliveroo

Our Global Structure Deliveroo is now part of DoorDash, bringing together teams with even greater reach, scale, and ambition. Depending on your role, you may collaborate with teammates, systems, and leaders across DoorDash and Wolt. Together, we’re unlocking new possibilities as one global team. Senior Product Manager, Core People Technology Location: London | Work model: Hybrid | Reports to: Senior Manager, People Product About the team People Technology builds and runs the systems behind every hire, transfer, leave, pay change and offboard for our workforce across DoorDash, Deliveroo and Wolt. Our mission is to make the operational backbone of People Operations invisible when it works — reliable, compliant, and scalable across dozens of markets — so our people teams can focus on people, not process. This role sits on the People Product team, working alongside Business Systems Analysts, engineers and delivery leadership to bring product thinking to one of our highest-volume, highest-consequence surfaces. About the role Core is the Workday and HR platform surface that nearly every People Operations process runs through — pay, leave, employment status, right to work, and multi-country compliance for a global workforce. Demand structurally exceeds capacity, and requests arrive from every direction without a shared shape. You'll be the first dedicated product manager for this space, responsible for turning that inbound chaos into a defensible, well-communicated plan — and, over time, for building the intake, frameworks and partnerships that let the space run on systems rather than on you. This is a hands-on individual contributor role: you'll be shaping tickets and sizing work alongside analysts and engineers, not managing from above. What you'll be doing Own the prioritised order of work for Core — building a clear, ranked plan, explaining the reasoning behind it, and being explicit about what's being deferred and why Turn vague or incomplete partner requests into documented problems, mapped current-state processes, and testable outcomes Partner directly and regularly with People Operations, Compliance, Payroll, Total Rewards and Business Systems Analysts, including holding "not now" conversations without damaging the relationship Work hands-on with analysts and engineers to shape, size, and write tickets, keeping an accurate and current picture of committed, shipped, and carried-over work Build and evolve the operating model across the analyst and engineering pod — the mechanisms, documentation and intake processes that let the space run with less coordination overhead Use AI tools to accelerate translation of messy, multi-format, multi-language inbound requests into structured requirements and plans, while applying clear judgment about what should never be automated (anything touching pay, leave, employment status or right to work) Escalate proactively on statutory or audit exposure, cross-space dependencies, and any trade-off that would move a compliance date Report progress and delivery against plan to partners and leadership, including clear communication when outcomes fall short Requirements Experience owning a product or systems area end-to-end, with real decision rights over scope and sequencing — not co-ownership of a feature Hands-on background with Workday or a comparable HRIS as a product manager or technical program manager, with genuine understanding of configuration, business processes, and integrations Demonstrated ability to prioritise when demand structurally exceeds capacity, including a repeatable method (not just instinct) for deciding what to do and communicating what won't get done Proven delivery in ambiguous, fast-moving environments, comfortable starting when requirements are incomplete or undocumented Experience translating a partner's requested solution into a well-defined problem, current-state understanding, and testable outcome Strong collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders, including compliance, payroll, or other regulated/audit-exposed functions Practical fluency with AI tools for requirements drafting, documentation, and structuring unstructured information, paired with sound judgment about where not to apply them Why Deliveroo Our mission is to transform the way you shop and eat, bringing the neighborhood to your door by connecting consumers, restaurants, shops and riders. We are transforming the way the world eats and shops by making access to food and products more convenient and enjoyable. We give people the opportunity to buy what they want, as they want it, when and where they want it. We are a technology-driven company at the forefront of the most rapidly expanding industry in the world. We are still a small team, making a very large impact, looking to answer some of the most interesting questions out there. We move fast, value autonomy and ownership, and we are always looking for new ideas. Workplace & Benefits At Deliveroo we know that people are the heart of the business and we prioritise their welfare. Benefits differ by country, but we offer many benefits in areas including healthcare, well-being, parental leave, pensions, and generous annual leave allowances, including time off to support a charitable cause of your choice. Benefits are country-specific, please ask your recruiter for more information. Diversity At Deliveroo, we believe a great workplace is one that represents the world we live in and how beautifully diverse it can be. That means we have no judgement when it comes to any one of the things that make you who you are - your gender, race, sexuality, religion or a secret aversion to coriander. All you need is a passion for (most) food and a desire to be part of one of the fastest-growing businesses in a rapidly growing industry. We are committed to diversity, equity and inclusion in all aspects of our hiring process. We recognise that some candidates may require adjustments to apply for a position or fairly participate in the interview process. If you require any adjustments, please don't hesitate to let us know. We will make every effort to provide the necessary adjustments to ensure you have an equitable opportunity to succeed. Depending on your role, you may collaborate with teammates, systems, and leaders across DoorDash and Wolt. Together, we’re unlocking new possibilities as one global team. Join us in our mission to transform the way people shop and eat, where impact, innovation and growth drive everything we do. Our Engineering teams tackle complex technical challenges across a global, three-sided marketplace, building and scaling systems that serve millions of customers, riders and partners every day. From real-time logistics to resilient infrastructure and marketplace optimisation, we design, build and operate technology that powers Deliveroo’s growth at scale. We’re looking for a Software Engineer, Backend to join our London team. This role is based in our London office with a hybrid setup, typically 3 days in the office. Get to know our Engineering team — what drives us, how we work, and what you can expect. About the Team The Core BI team builds and operates the services, integrations and automation that power business intelligence across DoorDash, Deliveroo and Wolt. Our platforms help analysts, Analytics Engineers, Data Scientists, Software Engineers and business teams discover trusted data and make informed decisions at scale. We combine software engineering, platform ownership, and a strong user focus to make BI tooling reliable, secure, scalable and self-service. The team supports the current BI ecosystem while helping shape a more integrated experience across the DoorDash group. About the Role As a Software Engineer on the Core BI team, you will build and operate the backend services, APIs and infrastructure our BI platforms run on. This is a hands-on software and platform engineering role: services and integrations, identity and access automation, observability, reliability and developer experience. BI is the domain you serve (primarily Looker and Sigma, and the systems around them), but the problems are backend and platform problems. You will own problems from discovery through design, implementation, deployment, and operational support. You will work closely with Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, Data Scientists, Software Engineers, Product Managers and business teams to turn recurring user needs into durable, self-service capabilities. If you're energized by solving technical problems with data and comfortable being deeply embedded across several domains, this role is for you! You’re excited about this opportunity because you will… Design, build, test, deploy and operate the backend services, APIs and automation that the BI platforms across DoorDash, Deliveroo and Wolt depend on Automate the platform lifecycle end to end (provisioning, metadata, permissions, migrations, archival and validation) so administration stops being manual work Build the integrations between BI platforms and the wider ecosystem: warehouses, identity providers, orchestration, CI/CD and internal developer tooling Improve the availability, observability, performance, scalability and security of the systems you own, and carry them in production Use AI tooling as part of how you engineer, and where it fits, build LLM-backed capabilities held to the same reliability and governance bar as anything else we ship Raise the engineering bar on the team, from service design and code review to testing, CI/CD and documentation, and improve the developer experience for everyone building on the platform We’re excited about you because… 3+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production backend, platform or infrastructure systems Readable, maintainable, well-tested code in Python, plus comfort with SQL and a working understanding of data modelling and warehousing concepts Experience building and owning APIs, integrations or automation in production, with sound judgement on service boundaries, authentication, data contracts and failure modes Hands-on with CI/CD, containers and Kubernetes, observability, debugging and incident response, and you expect to operate what you build Hands-on experience using AI tools (LLMs, agentic workflows, AI-assisted development) as part of how you engineer, and judgement about where they help and where they do not End-to-end ownership of ambiguous problems, clear communication with technical and non-technical teams, and comfort self-organising in a fast-paced, distributed environment Nice to Have Experience owning or integrating with BI platforms such as Looker, Sigma or comparable tools, and familiarity with semantic layers such as LookML or dbt Experience automating identity and access through Okta, SCIM or role-based access controls, or building multi-tenant platforms across brands and regions Experience shipping LLM-backed features to real users (retrieval, grounding and evaluation), or with MCP, agent frameworks or tool-calling in production Why Join Us? Staff Product Manager, People Product

About the team The People Technology Product team builds the internal tools and frameworks that power every employee’s journey across Deliveroo, DoorDash and Wolt. We combine a hybrid “build + buy” approach to deliver intelligent, scalable and people-centric experiences across hiring, pre-boarding, onboarding, learning, performance and more — connecting our mission to transform the way the world eats and shops with the experience of the people who make it happen. We partner closely with Design, Engineering, Analytics, People/HR and IT to build products that elevate the entire People Tech stack across all three brands. About the role We’re hiring a Staff Product Manager to own the product experience for pre-boarding and onboarding — one of the highest-leverage moments in the employee lifecycle — across Deliveroo, DoorDash and Wolt. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on the cross-functional experience that begins the moment a candidate signs and continues until a new hire is fully ramped, spanning both the People and IT functions. You’ll be the end-to-end product owner for the systems, workflows and experiences that get equipment, access, accounts, paperwork and early enablement right from day one. Based in London and working with global teams, you’ll drive measurable improvements to the new-hire experience and help our new hires ramp up faster, at scale across regions, legal contexts, and brands. What you'll be doing Own the end-to-end product roadmap and execution for pre-boarding and onboarding across Deliveroo, DoorDash and Wolt, from offer acceptance through to a fully ramped new hire. Design and evolve cross-functional experiences that connect People and IT workflows — provisioning, access and account setup, equipment, documentation and early enablement — into a single, coherent journey for new joiners and their managers. Define and track the metrics that matter — time-to-productivity, new-hire satisfaction, day-one readiness and operational efficiency — and use them to prioritise work and demonstrate impact. Build durable, modular product capabilities — task orchestration, status visibility, and manager and new-hire dashboards — that scale across geographies, orgs and brands and reduce reliance on manual, one-off processes. Partner closely with Engineering, Design, Analytics, People/HR and IT to translate complex, cross-functional process needs into intuitive product capabilities. Navigate the realities of a multi-brand, multi-region environment — varied legal and compliance requirements, regional differences and change management — without disrupting critical hiring moments. Set the product vision and influence senior stakeholders across the People and IT functions, building alignment on a shared onboarding strategy across all three brands. Model strong product judgement: define clear problem statements, scope MVPs intentionally and invest in foundations that compound over time. Requirements A track record of building and shipping products end-to-end — from problem definition and strategy through delivery and iteration — ideally in People/HR, IT or other complex, cross-functional environments. Experience designing products and workflows that span multiple functions, systems and stakeholders, turning complexity into simple, usable experiences. Comfort working with both custom-built tools and third-party SaaS platforms, including integrating data across systems. Strong analytical skills and the habit of using data and metrics to define success, prioritise and measure impact. Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to explain product decisions clearly and influence senior leaders across functions and brands. Experience operating across regions, legal contexts or multiple brands, building products that work in a global environment. A bias for delivering high-quality products in a fast-moving organisation, balancing speed, risk and technical constraints.
