What You Will Do Provides supervision for Staffing Resource Network (SRN) float pool nursing employees, serves as a liaison to various sites throughout Sharp HealthCare to maintain open communication related to staffing needs and processes. Department oversight Coordinate new hire/transfer/ termination process for float pool, including bu not limited to recruitment efforts, interviewing, reference checks, physical, new hire paperwork, new employee orientation and appropriate unit orientations and education. Interviews applicants to determine skill level and suitability for float pool. Once hired, ensures employees are assigned to appropriate client areas providing a good fit of employee skills and ability with the client department needs. Coordinates and monitors the orientation process for new employees, and for employees who are cross training to new areas. Department regulatory requirements Assures that SRN float pool employees are educated and compliant in a timely manner to all current SHC and regulatory standards, and documentation is evident in employees' personnel record. Competencies: Ensures all employees meet appropriate competencies. Works with SRN Training Specialist to coordinate competency process. New Hires/Transfer Employees: Employee personnel records are current within 90 days of hire or transfer into SRN department. SRN Float Staff: Employee personnel records are current at time of annual performance evaluation. Scheduling/Staffing: Ensures that processes are in place with client areas to capture accurate scheduling and staffing data. Discrepancies/Variations: Noted/explained in personnel record. Monitors policy and procedure compliance within the float pool. Ensures staff is educated to changes as appropriate. Float pool management Provide SRN with necessary employees to meet the needs of the organization. Works to ensure that outside registry usage is minimized and use of available SHC resources is maximized. Includes but is not limited to the following components: Prepares/analyzes staffing data related to float pool area; monitors trends related to registry usage vs. SRN staff usage. Liaisons with client groups related to upcoming and ongoing staffing needs. Develop/maintain client group profiles regarding work environment, minimum requirements, work hours, etc. Works with Recruitment Department to ensure continuous, effective recruiting efforts for client areas based on client feedback and staffing data trends. Ensures that individual float pool is structured to meet client group and SRN needs. Seeks opportunities to provide new or expanded service to client areas. Human resource management Provides feedback related to employees' performance in a positive, constructive manner. Ensures performance evaluations (90 day and annual) are completed within 30 days of due date. Provides clinical expertise in coaching staff to resolve performance issues or to enhance performance. Communicates with client departments to ensure adequate performance feedback. Uses and/or creates appropriate performance feedback tools specific to SRN float pool employees. Ensures appropriate stakeholders are informed of issues/concerns that relate to client areas, employees or SRN department in a timely manner. Payroll processing Prepares time card for submission to payroll by deadline. Ensures that time care reflects staffing data. Ensures all appropriate approvals are gained prior to submission. Ensures time is charged to appropriate cost centers. Verify and ensure accuracy of labor reports within established timelines. Is able to explain variances of time card to staffing data. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to effectively supervise the activities and personnel of the nursing division of Staffing Resource Network. Previous professional experience with proven organizational, leadership, and supervisory skills. Familiar with computer software and database programs. Effective interpersonal skills. Must have effective communication skills, written and oral. Ability to effectively communicate Able to analyze, interpret and prepare reports related to staffing data.
