Special Education Teacher

Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Special Education Teacher with active LBS1 and PEL credentials for a day shift position serving elementary or middle school students.

Responsibilities

• Work in a public school setting within the special education unit
• Day shift schedule from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday
• Caseload includes either elementary or middle school students; please specify preference
• Assignment runs from August 18, 2025, to May 9, 2026
• Primary responsibilities include instructional planning and delivery for students with special needs
• Collaboration with support staff and general education teachers is expected
• No references required for initial consideration
• Successful fingerprinting and background check required prior to starting assignment

Requirements

• Valid LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist 1) and PEL (Professional Educator License) in hand
• Resume required for consideration
• Must be in state to complete fingerprinting through the district prior to start; results can take 5-10 days
• License required if applicable
