About the team + role

We are building an elite team, applying frontier technologies to the world’s biggest financial problems. We’re looking for bold thinkers. Sharp problem-solvers. Builders who are wired to make an impact. Robinhood isn’t a place for complacency, it’s where ambitious people do the best work of their careers. We’re a high-performing, fast-moving team with ethics at the center of everything we do. Expectations are high, and so are the rewards.

Robinhood is looking for a Director of Corporate Development to help accelerate our roadmap by identifying, vetting, and executing acquisitions, strategic investments, and other transactions. In this role, you will develop a deep understanding of Robinhood's strategic priorities and market landscape, and partner with GMs and senior leadership to identify high-potential opportunities across our existing and future product verticals and geographies. You will help build Robinhood's network of founders, investors, and bankers, and develop relationships that may lead to acquisitions or strategic investments.

You will work closely with deal sponsors and cross-functional leaders across Robinhood on all aspects of M&A, including business case construction, valuation analysis, deal structuring, negotiation, due diligence, execution, and post-close integration. You will present opportunities to company leadership and the Board of Directors, facilitate key decisions, and provide post-acquisition performance updates. The ideal candidate is strategic, relationship-oriented, analytical, and results-oriented, and thrives at a public company that still operates like a startup.

This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA or New York, NY offices, with in-person attendance expected 3 days per week.

At Robinhood, we believe in the power of in-person work to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen community. Our office experience is intentional, energizing, and designed to fully support high-performing teams.

What you’ll do

  • Analyze Robinhood's strategic landscape, gather competitive and industry intelligence, and develop the business case and rationale for key M&A opportunities, advocating for them internally.
  • Manage transactions end to end, including sourcing, valuation, negotiation, diligence, and closing, and partner with integration teams to deliver a seamless post-close transition.
  • Lead deal evaluation meetings and drive decision-making with objectivity, diplomacy, and effectiveness.
  • Cultivate relationships with founders, venture capital firms, and investment banks to build a proactive pipeline of future acquisitions and strategic investments.
  • Collaborate with business sponsors and leaders across Legal, Finance, Compliance, Product, and Engineering to build clear business and financial cases and execute deals.
  • Present opportunities and recommendations to senior leadership and the Board of Directors, and report on post-acquisition performance against the original deal thesis.
  • Help build scalable processes, playbooks, and best practices that shape the operating system of Robinhood's Corporate Development team.

What you bring

  • 10+ years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, venture capital, private equity, or other investing roles, ideally within fintech, financial services, or consumer technology.
  • Track record of sourcing, leading, and closing complex technology acquisitions or strategic investments, ideally including in-house corporate development experience.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, including company valuation, financial modeling, and structured problem solving.
  • Ability to reason from first principles, using data and analysis to draw sound conclusions, with a bias toward action: analyze fast, decide, and either move forward or move on.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a track record of building strong working relationships with founders, investors, bankers, and executives.
  • Executive presence and outstanding written and verbal communication, including experience presenting to senior leadership and boards.
  • Resourceful, persistent, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Familiarity with Robinhood and our industry. You enjoy managing your money on your phone!

What we offer

  • Challenging, high-impact work to grow your career.
  • Performance-driven compensation with multipliers for outsized impact, bonus programs, equity ownership, and 401(k) matching.
  • Best-in-class benefits to fuel your work, including 100% paid health insurance for employees with 90% coverage for dependents.
  • Lifestyle wallet — a highly flexible benefits spending account for wellness, learning, and more.
  • Employer-paid life & disability insurance, fertility benefits, and mental health benefits.
  • Time off to recharge including company holidays, paid time off, sick time, parental leave, and more!
