Overview: The Material and Equipment Coordinator is responsible for following procedures for material management control of the patient care areas in accordance with hospital requirements. Responsible for all environment of care.
Qualifications: Required Education: Vocational Training High School Diploma or GED Preferred Education: Associate, Bachelor's or Paramedic Necessary Skills: 1. Knowledge in all aspects of supply/equipment processing, ordering or automated system 2. Experience with standard office software 3. Clinical efficiency 4. Ability to educate staff regarding the use and cleaning of specialized equipment including but not limited to: emergency response, defibrillation, pacing, telemetry/monitoring, transducers, ultrasound and intubation equipment 5. Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment 6. Knowledge in the use of universal precautions 7. Effective oral and written communication skills 8. Ability to make decisions independently; self driven and a skilled negotiator Required Licensure/Certifications: Current Florida EMT Certification or Current Florida Paramedic License Or Current NREMT Certification. Effective December 1st, 2014 existing employees must convert NREMT Certification to State of Florida Licensure by March 31st, 2015 and new hire/transfers must convert within 6 month of the date of hire or transfer. BLS from the American Heart Association Preferred Licensure/Certifications: N/A Required Experience: 1-2 years work experience as an ED Tech or Paramedic Preferred Experience: N/A
