Position Summary 
The Pediatric Physician Assistant (PA) provides comprehensive healthcare services to infants, children, and adolescents under the supervision of a licensed physician. This role includes diagnosing illnesses, developing treatment plans, promoting preventive care, and supporting families in managing pediatric health conditions. The PA works in a collaborative, patient-centered environment focused on delivering high-quality pediatric care.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Care- Perform age-appropriate patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic pediatric conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests (lab work, imaging, screenings)
- Prescribe medications in accordance with state regulations
- Conduct well-child visits and routine health screenings
- Monitor growth and developmental milestones
- Administer immunizations following recommended schedules
- Provide anticipatory guidance on nutrition, safety, and developmental health
- Educate parents and caregivers on diagnosis, treatment plans, and home care
- Offer guidance on pediatric health topics such as feeding, sleep, behavior, and illness prevention
- Support families in managing chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, ADHD)
- Collaborate with pediatricians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals
- Refer patients to specialists as needed
- Participate in care planning and follow-up management
- Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the EMR system
- Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines, regulatory standards, and safety protocols
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Master s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current NCCPA certification
- Active state PA license (or eligibility to obtain)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
- Knowledge of pediatric medicine, development, and preventive care
- 1 3 years of experience in pediatrics or family medicine
- Experience in outpatient pediatric clinic or pediatric hospital setting
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
