The Business Development Manager drives international channel sales and direct deals, dedicating roughly two-thirds of time to managing the partner programme and one-third to direct pipeline development. Responsibilities include recruiting regional resellers and technology partners, enabling partner teams, closing end-to-end B2B deals, and tracking performance using HubSpot. Candidates require at least five years of B2B business development, channel, or enterprise sales experience with a proven track record of partner-driven revenue.
About complead
complead, formerly Sanction Scanner, is the financial crime platform we started in Istanbul in 2020. We run sanctions screening, KYC and KYB, transaction monitoring, fraud detection and case management for more than 800 financial institutions in over 80 countries, from payment companies to tier-one banks. One engine, one customer record, one audit trail.
The name changed this year because the work outgrew it. The standard underneath it did not: compliance software should be judged by what it covers, how fast it answers and whether it can explain itself.
What we have earned so far
- Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Türkiye, four consecutive years (the latest, our first under the complead name)
- Deloitte Technology Fast 500 EMEA, two consecutive years
- Inc. Türkiye 100 Fastest-Growing Companies, two consecutive years
- G2 AML Overall Leader, three years running
- Listed in Fast Company Best Startups, FinCrimeTech50, RegTech100 and TOBB 100 Fast Growing Companies
The role
We are looking for a Business Development Manager to open new channels to revenue for complead outside Türkiye.
Your main job is partners: finding the resellers, technology platforms and advisory firms that can put complead in front of banks and payment companies we would not reach on our own, signing them and making them sell. You also sell yourself. You run and close the deals your partners bring, and you build your own pipeline in markets where we have no partner yet.
Roughly two thirds of your time goes to partners and one third to direct deals. You are measured on revenue, not on the number of logos on a partner page. You work directly with the CEO and our international sales team.
What you will own
- The partner programme. Partner tiers, reseller margins, referral fees and contract terms. Written in your first months, used with every partner and improved as we learn.
- Finding and signing partners. Regional resellers and distributors in markets such as the Gulf, Africa, Central Asia and Latin America; technology platforms such as core banking, payment and onboarding providers that can embed our screening API; and AML advisory firms that see compliance projects first.
- Making partners sell. Train their teams, give them the pitch, the demo and the pricing, build joint account plans and join their first meetings until they can sell complead on their own.
- Closing deals. Run partner-sourced and co-sell deals end to end, from the first meeting through proof of concept and procurement to signature.
- Your own pipeline. Prospect and close direct deals in one or two markets where we have no partner yet.
- Pipeline and reporting. Every partner and every deal in HubSpot, partner-sourced revenue tracked on its own line, and a forecast the team can plan on.
- Working with AI. Use AI tools for market and partner research, account plans, proposals and partner materials.
What your first year looks like
In your first month you learn the product, our buyers and our pricing, sit in on live deals and map the partner landscape in our priority markets. By month three the partner programme is written, you have a shortlist of real partner candidates and your first partners are signed. By month twelve you have a group of active partners closing deals with us, deals you closed yourself, and partner revenue is a line in the company plan.
Requirements
What we are looking for
- At least 5 years of B2B experience in business development, partnerships, channel sales or enterprise sales, with a revenue target.
- Partner experience that shows up in revenue. You have signed and managed resellers, distributors, referral or technology partners, and you can tell us how much revenue came through them.
- A closer. You have run B2B deals end to end yourself, ideally with banks, payment companies or other regulated institutions, including procurement and security reviews.
- Experience in B2B SaaS, fintech, regtech, cybersecurity, core banking or payments is a strong plus.
- International experience. You have worked with partners or customers outside Türkiye.
- Hands-on with a CRM, ideally HubSpot, and daily use of AI tools at work.
- A builder. You can start a channel from a blank page, decide which partners are worth the time and say no to the rest.
- Comfort with travel. Regular trips to partners and events abroad.
- Fluent spoken English. You can negotiate a partner agreement in English. Part of our interview process is in English.
- Fluent Turkish.
- A bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience.
- You are happy to work from our office in Üsküdar, Istanbul when you are not travelling.
Before you apply
This role builds something that does not exist yet. If you want a partner portfolio handed to you, or you see partnerships as signing memoranda and posting about them, it is not the right seat. If you want to build a channel from zero and you judge a partner by the revenue it brings, it is.
Benefits
What comes with the job
- Competitive pay. A net base salary, plus commission on the deals you close under our sales commission policy.
- Private health insurance. Cover for you from your first month, with family cover available.
- Lunch in the office. Cooked lunch every working day, plus breakfast and coffee.
- Travel. Business travel covered under our travel policy, with a daily allowance abroad.
- Industry events. The conferences where our partners and buyers meet.
- Learning budget. Certifications, courses and conferences.
- Time off. Statutory leave plus company days, and the expectation that you take them.
- Direct access. You work next to the people who make the decisions.
How we hire
Four steps, about three weeks end to end: your application (every one is read, and you hear back within two days), a 45-minute first conversation, partly in English, a case session (pick one of our markets, walk us through your 90-day partner plan and name three real partners you would go after first), and a visit to meet the team and see the office before the offer. We check references for this role.
Equal opportunity
We hire for talent, ownership and fit. We do not discriminate on the basis of gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, ethnicity or social background.
