The Position

Make a Global Impact on Life-Saving Healthcare Logistics

At Roche, we believe every patient deserves access to innovative treatments without delay and outstanding quality. To make that happen, our supply chain must operate with absolute precision and cutting-edge technology.

We are looking for an experienced Senior SAP EWM Solution Architect to take end-to-end technical ownership of one of the Roche Pharma division’s largest and most highly automated distribution hubs. Serving patients worldwide, this site relies on high-throughput automation running on a mission-critical, validated SAP landscape.

In this role, you will be embedded within an agile product team, making independent product-level decisions, driving technical strategy, and collaborating directly with global stakeholders to ensure continuous innovation and reliability.

What You Will Do

  • Architect & Deliver High-Impact Solutions: Lead the technical design, configuration, and implementation of complex enhancements across our SAP EWM landscape, including Material Flow System (MFS) and custom user interfaces (WebDynpro).
  • Own Technical Problem-Solving: Tackle end-to-end operational challenges, perform root-cause analyses, debug complex workflows, and translate nuanced business logistics into robust system architecture.
  • Bridge Business & Technology: Act as a strategic partner to warehouse operations, engineering, and business leaders—managing expectations, presenting technical roadmaps, and turning operational bottlenecks into automated solutions.
  • Ensure Quality in a Regulated Environment: Champion compliance, computer system validation (CSV), and change management within a validated GxP environment, maintaining the highest standards for patient safety.
  • Drive Agile Excellence & Mentorship: Work within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment, leading knowledge-sharing sessions, and elevating the technical maturity of the team.
  • On-Site Collaboration: Travel occasionally to Switzerland for collaborative workshops, key go-lives, and direct stakeholder engagement.

Who You Are

Must-Haves:

  • 5+ years of hands-on SAP EWM experience with extensive exposure to complex production environments, custom logic, and configuration.
  • Life Sciences or Regulated Industry Background: Solid experience navigating strict validation (GxP/CSV), structured change management, and technical documentation standards.
  • Agile Mindset: Practical experience working within modern agile operating models (preferably SAFe / Scrum).
  • Autonomous Decision-Maker: Proven track record of independently owning complex product-level decisions and communicating clearly across technical and operational teams.
  • Language: Professional working proficiency in English (written and verbal).

Nice-to-Haves (A Big Plus):

  • Direct, hands-on experience implementing or optimizing SAP EWM-MFS (Material Flow System) connected to automated high-bay warehouses or automated guided vehicles (AGVs).
  • Strong technical literacy with ABAP debugging and integration technologies.
  • Professional working proficiency or fluency in German.

Why Join Us?

  • Mission-Driven Scale: Work on EWM systems where your code and designs directly safeguard the global supply of critical medicines.
  • Cutting-Edge Automation: Gain exposure to one of the most advanced automated warehouse environments in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Autonomy & Influence: High trust, product-centric culture where your technical voice shapes the roadmap.
