Our hospital provides primary care and specialty health services, including mental health services, physical therapy and rehabilitation, spinal cord injury treatment, and more. Located on the Georgia/South Carolina border, the city of Augusta, GA lies on the Savannah River, which supports its diverse economic endeavors as well as vast recreation options. The city is the center point of the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA), a 13-county region that includes both Georgia and South Carolina. It is located within close proximity to many major southern destinations including Atlanta, Columbia, and Charlotte.VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply. Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Authorized. Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): EDRP Authorized. Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting Major Duties/Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnostic work-up and clinic intervention, including comprehensive patient assessment, health history, physical examination, and patient education to Veterans in the Primary Care team setting. Works collaboratively with other health care professionals to accomplish patient, service, and medical center goals, promoting and embracing the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model of care, utilizing Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect, Excellence (ICARE) values throughout the clinic. Distinguish between normal and abnormal findings to establish a diagnosis and initiate appropriate response to emergency health problems. Order and evaluate diagnostic tests as appropriate, recommend treatment and/or referral. Initiate appropriate referrals and consultations to other clinical services. Initiate, evaluate, and change orders for medications. Follow Performance Measure guidelines, including completion of clinical reminders; access and timeliness standards; prescription order entry, National VA formulary Requirements, and customer service standards. Demonstrates flexibility in responding to clinic demands, adhere to personal and professional obligations and responsibilities. Practice and maintain ethical standards and sustain a work environment that is harmonious and customer service oriented. Other duties, as assigned. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday - 08:00am-4:30PM.
