Ho w this role contributes to the Y's mission: As a Y Head Start Early Learning Coach, you will support educational quality, Creative Curriculum implementation and positive child outcomes throughout the programs operating areas. The Early Learning Coach regularly conducts classroom observations and coaching sessions in each center, both informally and formally (utilizing our program systems and tools). You will maintain documentation to provide feedback to Teachers and Zone Managers in all areas of educational quality. You will plan and collaborate in joint sessions with Zone Managers, Curriculum & Environments Specialist and Director of Early Childhood Education to ensure that outcomes are achieved for teachers, as well as, children of all abilities. You will create an environment which fosters the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative development of each child. As a Y Head Start Early Learning Coach, you'll contribute to the Y and to the broader community we serve by working with our littlest participants who are economically disadvantaged and help them prepare for success in school and life. This work is right for you if you have: • An interest in the well-being and education of young children, enthusiasm, patience, good humor, good judgment and a good spirit • Prior experience teaching and/or supervising in a Head Start setting, preferably using Creative Curriculum • The ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to children, parents/guardians, members, and other Y associates • A BA/BS in Early Childhood Education or a related field from an accredited college or university All Y associates agree to abide by The Code of Conduct with Youth that sets clear expectations for associates and volunteers to ensure a safe and respectful environment for young people. POSITION SUMMARY: This position serves as a Head Start Site Director for clustered Y Head Start centers, as well as Y Head Start sites located in Public Schools. The Head Start Site Director supervises Head Start Teachers, Assistant Head Start Teachers, Resource Aides, Food Service Personnel, Drivers, and Substitute teachers. Head Start Site Directors are primarily responsible for the overall management and day-to-day operations, including OCC/Child Care Licensing compliance and Head Start Program Performance Standards. The Head Start Site Director collaborates with other Y team members to ensure high-quality, integrated comprehensive services are implemented consistently. This position is chiefly responsible for the following core functions and performs other tasks as needed: Planning Program Implementation Family Engagement Family Engagement Partnerships Communication and Service Coordination Record Keeping and Reporting Ongoing Monitoring, Human Resources and Supervision Program Governance and Leadership Education Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education, Child and Family Studies, Child Development, Human Development, Human Services, or a related field. Experience A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in an early learning center is preferred. Knowledge of OCC regulations and HSPPS preferred. Management of multi-center locations. ECERS and ITERS preferred Knowledge of Computer Applications Valid driver's license Certifications - earn and maintain CPR and First Aid CLASS Reliability 45-Hour Director's Certification 90-Hour Certification, if the degree is not in a related field All Y associates agree to abide by The Code of Conduct with Youth that sets clear expectations for associates and volunteers to ensure a safe and respectful environment for young people.
