2nd Shift Industrial Maintenance Technician

Top priority for Industrial Maintenance Technicians is machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair, and preventive maintenance on production equipment. Also, responsible for other maintenance activities, including building maintenance. Hours for this role are Monday - Friday from 1pm - 9pm Position responsibilities include, but not limited to Top priority is machine maintenance and repair but will also be responsible for a broad range of other maintenance activities Install, conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and maintain proper machine performance Will work with natural gas fired equipment, 480V, 3PH electrical, as well as ammonia systems and boiler Diagnose root cause of downtime or quality issues and make repairs to correct the issue Facilitate scheduled changeovers and repairs with production staff Recommend and initiate changes to improve equipment operating performance Create and supply parts lists for repairs & backup, and suggest purchase items Maintain documents related to maintenance, tests, modifications, and repairs Train Machine Operators and others on proper set-up and adjustment of equipment Perform facilities maintenance including general construction (light plumbing, electrical, and carpentry) Required skills and experience Minimum of 3 years relevant machine maintenance experience Experience working with gas fired equipment Electrical knowledge including 480V, 3 PH Knowledge/experience working with refrigeration, ammonia systems, heating, boilers, pneumatics, and/or PLC's highly desired Preventive maintenance skills Senior level Maintenance Techs need experience working with maintenance management system (CMMS) to coordinate and track preventive maintenance and perform asset management Demonstrated commitment to following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and other food safety rules Strong problem-solving skills Ability to work proactively and independently Preferred skills and experience Technical training or degree in maintenance field desired Physical requirements Regularly required to use hands to feel, grab, or operate objects, tools, and controls while reaching with hands and arms Frequently required to stand, communicate, and listen. Occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel or crouch. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Visual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Able to perform repetitive movements Able to work in variable temperatures (cold/hot)

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production and facility equipment through proactive maintenance, rapid troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts. This role performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on food processing, packaging, and utility systems while maintaining strict compliance with safety, food safety, and regulatory standards. Working cross-functionally with production, engineering, and quality teams, the mechanic plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and supporting overall operational performance. Day shift and night shift hours available. 4am-4pm OR 4pm-4am with the following example schedule: Week 1: Monday/Tuesday on; Wednesday/Thursday off; Friday/Saturday/Sunday on Week 2: Monday/Tuesday off; Wednesday/Thursday on; Friday/Saturday/Sunday off Position responsibilities include, but not limited to Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment, including conveyors, fillers, tray sealers, labelers, robotic systems, utility equipment, and related machinery Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical issues to minimize downtime and maintain continuous operations Conduct equipment inspections to identify wear, defects, or potential failures and perform timely repairs or replacements Install, align, calibrate, and commission new equipment and production lines as required Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, restore equipment to operational status, and communicate maintenance activities to production personnel Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts inventory within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) Follow all applicable safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space Entry, Hot Work, and other required safety programs Comply with all food safety, quality, and sanitation standards, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and HACCP requirements Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency Identify and recommend equipment or process improvements that reduce downtime, improve reliability, and lower maintenance costs Fabricate or modify parts and components using welding, machining, or other fabrication methods as needed Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Required skills and experience High school diploma or GED Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment Understanding of LOTO, Hot Work, Confined Space, and other safety procedures Understanding of Food Safety requirements in an FDA/USDA regulated environment Strong mechanical aptitude with proven ability to maintain, diagnose, and repair industrial food processing and packaging equipment Hands-on experience with conveyors, fillers, packers, sealers, robotic systems, and/or utility systems in a manufacturing environment Knowledge of mechanical systems, including bearings, gearboxes, motors, belts, chains, and drive systems Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems (Sensors, VFDs, PLC, 24-480V, 3PH) Competency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement instruments Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with preventative and predictive maintenance practices and maintenance management systems (CMMS) Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and P&ID's Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime, weekends Excellent communication and teamwork skills Preferred skills and experience Two (2) years of experience in food manufacturing or a related environment Bilingual, English & Spanish Basic welding, fabrication, and machining skills Experience with robotic packing and/or palletizing Experience with ammonia and refrigeration equipment Technical training or degree in maintenance or applicable trade Physical requirements Walk or stand for majority of shift Occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds Step, climb, bend, kneel, or crouch to access workspace Operate in varied temperatures from extreme hot to extreme cold Use of hands to feel/grab objects, operates tools and machine controls, and perform repetitive movements Visual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
