Hematology/Oncology Physician

Hematologist / Oncologist (MD/DO) Position Summary The Hematologist/Oncologist provides comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with benign and malignant disorders of the blood and cancer. This role includes delivering evidence-based medical care, coordinating multidisciplinary oncology services, and supporting patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Must maintain state certification and/or licensure. Must be legally licensed to practice medicine in North Dakota and/or Minnesota, depending on the location of the practice to which you are assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Evaluate and manage patients with hematologic disorders and solid and hematologic malignancies Diagnose and treat conditions such as anemia, coagulation disorders, thrombosis, leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and solid tumors Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and supportive care Provide outpatient oncology care and inpatient consultation services as needed Monitor treatment response and manage therapy-related side effects and complications Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including radiation oncology, surgery, pathology, radiology, pharmacy, and palliative care Participate in tumor boards and care planning conferences Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, prognosis, and survivorship care Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiatives Supervise and educate advanced practice providers, residents, or fellows as applicable Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards Qualifications Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program Completion of an accredited Hematology/Oncology fellowship program Board-eligible or board-certified in Hematology and Medical Oncology Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure DEA registration or eligibility Skills and Competencies Expertise in hematologic and oncologic disease management Strong clinical judgment and complex decision-making skills Excellent communication and patient counseling abilities Ability to manage complex, chronic, and life-threatening conditions Commitment to evidence-based, compassionate, patient-centered care Work Environment Outpatient oncology clinics, infusion centers, and hospital inpatient settings Call responsibilities as determined by practice or service needs Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout clinical environments Manual dexterity for examinations and office-based procedures Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for patient assessment and treatment monitoring Must maintain state certification and/or licensure. Must be legally licensed to practice medicine in North Dakota and/or Minnesota, depending on the location of the practice to which you are assigned
