Job Summary and Qualifications Position Summary: Responsible for operations of assigned departments and the integration of the service within overall hospital functions. Collaborates in decision-making structures and processes. Knowledgeable of healthcare trends and integrates into strategic planning for department(s). Accountable for the implementation of an effective and continuous program to measure, assess and improve performance. Assures a high level of customer satisfaction. Manages productivity to achieve budgetary targets. Must be willing to assume twenty-four hour responsibility for patient care and a leadership role with the health care team in planning and delivering patient care. Position Requirements: A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current Licensure in the state of Colorado as a Certified Respiratory Therapist. BLS, PALS, NRP. B. Education: Bachelor's in Health Care related field preferred. Master's in Health Care Administration or business degree preferred. C. Experience: Minimum of three to five years in comparable position preferred. Recent clinical experience in specialty. D. Special Qualifications: Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of the organizational standards of care. Is able to plan and provide for delivery of services to all patient populations both inpatient and outpatient. Works independently to effectively problem solve issues with staff and develop a workable solution. Communicates effectively both orally and in writing. Must have a willingness to participate in guidance and counseling of personnel. Must have interpersonal skills to act as a mediator between patient care and administration. Proficiency in computer skills, critical thinking skills, and public speaking skills. Knowledgeable of local, state, and federal regulations that impact areas of their responsibility. III. Degree of supervision required: Involves general guidance and direction by the Associate Chief Operating Officer. Employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Job Summary and Qualifications As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across neonatal, pediatric, and adult populations. You will perform advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, manage invasive and noninvasive ventilation, and provide care in a variety of clinical environments including critical care, emergency, and acute care settings. This role includes a strong emphasis on supporting a high-acuity Level IV NICU and PICU/PCVICU, where therapists are essential in managing complex respiratory conditions, advanced ventilator strategies, and post-operative cardiac patients. You will be empowered to practice with a high degree of autonomy using evidence-based protocols, while working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team focused on exceptional patient outcomes. What You Will Do In This Role Provide comprehensive respiratory care across all patient populations, including neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients Serve as a key clinician in the Level IV NICU, PICU/ PCVICU, and Adult ICU managing high-acuity and complex cases Support post-operative cardiac patients requiring advanced cardiopulmonary management Perform and manage advanced respiratory therapies, including: Invasive and noninvasive ventilation High-frequency ventilation including Jet ventilator used a primary ventilator for our small baby protocol Airway management and intubation support Nitric oxide and specialty gas therapies Utilize therapist-driven protocols to assess, initiate, adjust, and wean respiratory therapies autonomously Perform routine and advanced respiratory procedures, including ABGs, bronchial hygiene therapies, and pulmonary diagnostics Respond to rapid response and code events as a critical member of the resuscitation team Maintain clinical excellence through ongoing education and competency validation Ensure proper cleaning, maintenance, and operation of respiratory equipment Provide education and consultation to physicians, nurses, patients, and families Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and outcomes Support a culture of patient-centered care, safety, and employee engagement Qualifications Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Colorado Respiratory Therapy license (obtained prior to start date) BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required (or obtained within specified timeframe) Graduate of AMA accredited Respiratory Therapy Program Experience in ICU, NICU, and/or pediatric settings preferred Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Schedule & Work Environment 8-week self-scheduling model, balanced by leadership for fairness and consistency Opportunities to work across multiple care areas, maintaining broad clinical competency Supportive leadership focused on engagement, development, and career advancement HCA HealthONE, one of the largest and most comprehensive healthcare systems in the Rocky Mountain region, offers more than 170 care sites in the Denver metro area.
