POSITION TITLE Senior Corporate Governance & Board Operations Manager POSITION LOCATION Richmond, Virginia This position is available to Virginia residents as Richmond, Virginia in-office applicants A Hybrid schedule of both Remote and In-Office days is required. In office days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with working hours targeting our core business hours of 9am-5pm EST. YOUR ROLE The Senior Corporate Governance & Board Operations Manager serves as a strategic partner to the Deputy Corporate Secretary / Chief Sustainability Officer, driving execution of governance priorities, managing enterprise-wide initiatives, and ensuring effective coordination across board, committee, and management activities in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment. This role blends project management discipline, corporate governance high-quality execution, and executive-level coordination. What you will be doing Coordinate Genworth Board and Committee activities (before, during and after meetings), including developing streamlined processes, including leading, directing and working with Senior Leaders in the development, review and distribution of agendas, reports, presentations and other materials in preparation for Board and Committee meetings Facilitate and lead internal meetings with critical advance planning and agility to navigate transitions throughout the Board and Committee activities continuum Assist in executing corporate governance best practices and to support NYSE public company governance and the corporate secretary function Provide direct communications and maintain relationships with the board of directors as well as coordinate efforts to develop new or revised corporate governance operations projects/procedures Oversight of coordination/logistics process for the Board and Committee meetings, dinners and events Drive prioritization and lead special governance operations projects Assist with preparing executive-level briefings, talking points, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders Productively impact strategic, tactical and administrative initiatives related to corporate governance Provide strong financial stewardship, including tracking actuals versus budget, forecasting, and supporting multi-year planning and investment decisions Some travel required (approximately 20%) What you bring Bachelor's Degree 7-10 years of experience in corporate governance, legal operations, or project management Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects with C-suite and board-level visibility Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentation development High attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills Demonstrated ability to anticipate needs, operate proactively, and remain agile in a fast-paced, evolving environment Ability to operate with discretion and handle highly confidential information Strategic thinker with strong judgment, paired with hands-on execution capability Nice to have Strong stakeholder management and influence skills Strong knowledge of board governance processes and/or public company requirements Experience with BoardVantage or any Board portal platform Advanced skills in PowerPoint creation, SharePoint, Teams, Zoom, AI tools, and/or project management methodologies Employee Benefits & Well-Being Genworth employees make a difference in people's lives every day. YOUR ROLE As a HQ Finance team member, you'll play a key role in supporting the financial strength and flexibility that enables us to provide returns to the shareholders and be there when our policyholders need us - now and in the future. As the Director of Tax Planning and Research, you will be a part of the leadership of the Corporate Tax Department, reporting to the Senior Vice President, Tax. While the role is focused on being a technical resource, we expect you to play a broad leadership role across all the activities and responsibilities of the tax department. What you will be doing The Director of Tax Planning and Research will be responsible for: Working with the other members of the leadership of the Corporate Tax Department to establish and achieve strategic tax goals including staffing, training, and development of the team; ensure that all of our tax compliance and financial reporting requirements are met, implement process improvement and technology change to drive efficiency and effectiveness, ensure effective coordination with our business partners throughout the organization, and effectively manage our tax obligations. The Director will be specifically responsible for driving tax planning and research projects, overseeing the Tax Department financial planning and analysis activities, working with industry groups on tax legislative and technical issues, addressing developing tax-related financial reporting issues, working with our operations and legal groups on policyholder reporting and compliance matters, and other responsibilities as required Present tax issues and opportunities to key stakeholders including Genworth Senior Leadership and the Board of Directors Build and maintain effective relationships with internal business partners, external auditors, and advisors What you bring Bachelor's degree in accounting Advance degrees such as a JD or MST will be considered as a component of the overall evaluation of the candidate, but are not essential 15 or more years of relevant work experience, preferably within the insurance industry Significant large accounting firm or law firm experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong critical thinking, project management and relationship management capabilities Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management The ability to work as a member and leader of a team with a commitment to fostering team culture Employee Benefits & Well-Being Genworth employees make a difference in people's lives every day.
