Team Leader (MP130010)Join us and play a key part in providing vision to future growth of the Title Compliance Branch.
As a member of the Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration, you will support the development of Western Australia's resources sector and oversee resource development and improved environmental outcomes for mining, petroleum and exploration.
The roleThis position manages forfeiture activities and administers the Wardens Court processes under the Mining Act 1978. As the Team Leader, you will lead and coordinate branch activities through legislative processes, ensuring timely and effective approvals aligned with departmental objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the team that handles forfeiture and court processes.
- Applying the Mining Act 1978 and related regulations to support compliance frameworks.
- Providing technical advice and managing complex projects and court matters.
- Driving continuous improvement and supporting strategic outcomes.
- Considerable working knowledge of, and experience in applying, policy and legislation in a regulatory environment relating to the Mining Act 1978 and associated regulations.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team to provide timely and quality service delivery.
- Strong leadership skills and a proven record of managing technical teams within the mining or regulatory sector.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- To be eligible for a permanent appointment, applicants must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a visa that allows indefinite work in Australia.
- To be eligible for fixed term employment, applicants must hold an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or valid visa for the fixed term period.
- Required qualifications must be provided as certification or academic transcripts; overseas qualifications should be assessed by the Overseas Qualifications Unit.
- Applicants must consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain clearance before commencing.
