Job DescriptionThe role of Tax Manager in the energy and natural resources industry offers an excellent opportunity to oversee tax compliance and advisory functions while contributing to strategic financial planning.
- Manage all aspects of tax compliance, including preparation and review of income tax, GST, FBT and payroll tax filings.
- Provide tax advisory services to internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives and optimising tax outcomes.
- Identify and implement tax planning opportunities considering tax effect and deferred tax calculations.
- Oversee tax audits and liaise with external tax authorities and advisors.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the organisation.
- Business partner across departments to ensure business-wide understanding of tax implications of decisions
A successful Tax Manager should have:
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with CA or CPA qualifications preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in Australian tax laws and regulations, secured within big 4 or large Corporate environments.
- Prior experience in tax compliance and advisory, ideally within the energy and natural resources industry.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate complex tax matters clearly to various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A proactive approach to identifying and solving tax-related challenges.
