Empirical Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Ground Systems Engineer (ICT Security) to support the delivery of ICT ground systems and ICT support systems for a critical aerospace capability. Based in Adelaide, this role offers the opportunity to play a pivotal part in enabling Initial and Final Operational Capability (IOC/FOC) by delivering secure, integrated, and deployable ICT solutions.

This is a hands-on role requiring technical depth, leadership in planning and contracting, and collaboration with Defence and industry stakeholders to ensure ground systems and ICT solutions meet the highest security and performance standards.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Ground Systems Engineer focused on ICT Security, you will:

• Lead planning and contracting activities for deployable ground systems, including full Fundamental Input to Capability (FIC) considerations for secure containerised solutions
• Collaborate with sponsors, sustainment organisations, and industry partners to align with current in-service ADF equipment
• Undertake planning for installation and integration of systems into Australian strategic networks
• Support ICT certification and accreditation efforts across multiple domains, including Mission Systems, Platform ICT, Flight Simulator Training Devices, and ICT Support Systems
• Provide technical support to the Project Management Team, Ground Systems team, Transition Manager, and Governance team
• Liaise with security and assurance stakeholders, including ASD and other agencies, to ensure compliance and accreditation outcomes are achieved

What We're Looking For

• Strong background in systems and software engineering, with a focus on ICT security
• Demonstrated experience in ICT integration, certification, and accreditation processes
• Proven ability to deliver planning, contracting, and deployment of ICT or ground systems in complex environments
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills across Defence and industry organisations
• Ability to produce and manage documentation with accuracy, ensuring compliance with governance and assurance frameworks
• Current NV2 security clearance (mandatory)

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

You'll be highly regarded if you also bring:

• Prior experience with Defence aerospace or communications projects
• Familiarity with ICT integration into strategic networks and secure deployable systems
• Experience in project delivery from planning through to IOC/FOC achievement
• Knowledge of Defence acquisition frameworks, contracting processes, and sustainment environments
