Empirical Solutions is seeking a junior Business Analyst to join our Project and Development Services (PDS) team. This role supports digital transformation initiatives, leveraging data and technology to enable smarter decision-making and more efficient project delivery.

You will play a pivotal role in bridging business needs and technical execution, driving continuous improvement through structured analysis, stakeholder engagement, and process optimisation.

About the Role

As a Business Analyst, you will support large-scale program delivery and transformation activities, facilitating seamless data exchange between internal teams, external partners, and enterprise systems. You will work across both project and workflow data, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and alignment with business objectives.

You'll contribute to the design and implementation of digital solutions that enhance data quality, operational efficiency, and transparency across complex project environments.

What You'll Be Doing

Data Management & Integration

• Manage data extraction, transformation, and validation activities between systems and partners
• Perform quality assurance checks, disaggregate datasets, and monitor analytical dashboards for errors or anomalies
• Collaborate with external stakeholders to resolve data issues and ensure data integrity
• Prepare and manage data transfers, validation reports, and integration documentation
• Support the implementation of continuous improvement measures for data validation and integration

Workflow Administration

• Validate incoming workflow submissions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
• Cross-reference structured data with supporting documentation to ensure alignment
• Monitor error-handling and validation mechanisms, supporting issue resolution and data correction
• Provide onboarding, guidance, and training for system users

Change Management & Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to change management efforts including training, communication, and stakeholder engagement
• Document lessons learned and support improvement workshops
• Assist with the onboarding and optimisation of digital platforms
• Support capability development in digital data creation and management

Business Analysis & Process Optimisation

• Gather, document, and manage business and technical requirements through workshops, interviews, and analysis
• Map current-state and future-state business processes to identify opportunities for automation and improvement
• Define acceptance criteria and maintain traceability across project lifecycles
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses and present recommendations for digital solutions
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure business needs are met through data-driven solutions

Stakeholder & Consultancy Support

• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration
• Facilitate workshops and stakeholder meetings to gather insights and align objectives
• Provide consultancy-style guidance on leveraging data, digital platforms, and analytics to achieve operational excellence

What We're Looking For

We welcome applications from professionals who bring:

• Experience in Business, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering
• 5+ years' experience in digital solutions, business intelligence, or process optimisation roles
• Strong knowledge of low-code platforms, data analytics tools, and business process management systems
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets
• Experience working with stakeholders across technical and operational domains
• Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality documentation and visualisations
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences
• Baseline Clearance (Minimum)

Desirable Experience

You'll be highly regarded if you also bring:

• Experience working within Defence, government, or regulated sectors
• Familiarity with data integration and workflow platforms
• Understanding of business intelligence and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
• Knowledge of UI/UX design principles or low-code solution development
