Excellent opportunity for a dynamic Physician Assistant/Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team of highly trained Vascular Surgeons with Banner Thunderbird Medical Center and Banner Medical Group in Glendale, AZ. The preferred candidate will have inpatient and critical care experience working on the inpatient vascular surgery post operative floor. Post operative wound care experience is preferred. Our APP will round on patients on the hospital floor, see patients in the vascular surgery clinic and provide Surgical First-Assist in the OR as needed. Qualified candidates must have the ability to work in a collaborative environment; one that thrives in a highly integrated and innovative setting; and a desire to focus on patient excellence.


As a Vascular Surgery APP, this position involves the clinical management of patients, performance of therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, wound care, interpretation of diagnostic tests, education, consultation, discharges. This position requires working closely with our team of surgeons and other clinicians in a collaborative approach to patient care. You will also need to ability to work independently to maintain patient flow efficiency.


Position Qualifications:

Vascular care experience is a plus but new graduates with prior healthcare experience will be considered

Experience with inpatient workflow is preferred

Post surgery care knowledge

Comfortability with wound care

Current ACNP w/RNFA Certificate or PA board certification

Licensed or eligible to be licensed in the state of AZ

Current prescribing privileges including a DEA license for controlled substance

Critical care training and experience

Current CPR, BLS, and ACLS


Practice Details:

Clinic/OR position

Full-time M-F work schedule

Call: Hospital call; 1 weekend per month; 5 weekdays per month
