Surgery - Cardiovascular Physician Assistant

We are seeking 2 experienced Physician Assistants to join the Cardiovascular and Cardiothoracic Surgery department at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. This is a locum tenens opportunity designed to provide high-quality surgical assistance and procedural support in a collaborative inpatient setting.

• First-assist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures including vein harvesting
• Participate in a team of three surgical assistants per day
• Provide weekday call (1 day/week) and backup coverage
• Participate in a 1:4 weekend call rotation (Friday 3:00 PM Monday 6:30 AM)
• Maintain a 20-minute call response time
• Minimal call-back (typically 1 2 times per month)
• No rounding or admission responsibilitiesMust be board certified (or board eligible) in specialty
• Active WI license or IMLC eligibility
• ACLS and BLS certification required
• Prior experience in CT Surgery and first assist vein harvesting strongly preferred
• Fellowship preferredClinical Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM 3:00 PM
• Call Starts: Weekdays at 3:00 PM Weekends begin Friday at 3:00 PM
• Patients per Shift: 1 3 surgical cases per day
• Bed Count in Department: 3

• Credentialing Timeframe: 30 days
