Salary: Level 6, $120,457 - $132,753 per annum (pro rate) (PSCA 2024)

Position

Permanent full time position commencing ASAP.

Delivery of ICT services supports the Department's educational outcomes by developing initiatives and strategies to ensure all 800+ WA public schools can be distinctive and responsive to local communities while benefiting from a system.

The Role

As the SIS Training Officer you will be part of an energetic team, providing highly customer focused support to WA public schools. You will provide leadership and advice to school staff, business areas and external agencies on use of the Department's school and student administration solution.

Contribute to the development and implementation of training and support materials and review policies, standards and strategies to ensure compliance with legislative and statutory requirements. Your work will be framed within school administrative operations (student enrolment, attendance, well being, timetabling) and exclude financial and K 12 curriculum activities.

Requires travel within metropolitan area and to regional WA to provide training across state. This is a non technical ICT role created to meet training demands for the SIS replacement system.

Ideal Candidate
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy collaborating with stakeholders and policy owners to ensure training promotes compliance, aligns with Departmental procedures and streamlines processes.
  • Well developed written communication skills and experience designing and delivering group training materials in the context of school administration processes, procedures and operations.
  • Excellent research and collaboration skills to develop process driven, learner tailored training.
  • Skilled at identifying gaps in user knowledge and adapting materials to address those gaps.
  • Enjoy researching contemporary training modes and delivery to meet the needs of customers from novice to experienced end users.
  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or similar is beneficial but not essential.
