We're looking for a Senior Quality Control professional to join our team.
The role is responsible for ensuring that all concrete products meet required standards, specifications, and client expectations. You'll lead the QC team, oversee lab and field testing, maintain quality systems, and ensure compliance with local and international standards - helping us deliver reliable, high-quality concrete every time.
Key Responsibilities Quality Assurance & Compliance- Ensure that all concrete production meets the required technical and customer specifications in line with ASTM, BS, EN, and local municipality standards.
- Implement, monitor, and continuously improve the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, ensuring consistency across all plants.
- Approve and validate mix designs, raw materials, and concrete trial results while maintaining strict quality control throughout the production cycle.
- Conduct internal quality audits, identify non-conformances, and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in all quality-related activities.
- Supervise all laboratory and field testing activities including sampling, slump, temperature, and compressive strength tests.
- Oversee the calibration and maintenance of laboratory and on-site testing equipment to ensure accurate results.
- Inspect incoming raw materials such as cement, aggregates, admixtures, and water to confirm quality and consistency before use.
- Conduct trial mixes and performance testing for high-strength and special concrete grades as required by clients or projects.
- Lead and mentor the Quality Control team, ensuring clarity of responsibilities, skill development, and continuous improvement.
- Develop training programs to strengthen team capability in testing standards, documentation, and quality assurance procedures.
- Assign daily work schedules, review test reports, and ensure adherence to timelines and quality requirements.
- Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance reports (NCRs), conduct root cause analysis, and develop improvement plans.
- Work closely with production, operations, and dispatch teams to resolve mix-related issues and improve consistency.
- Recommend technical solutions to improve product quality, optimize mix design, and reduce material wastage.
- Maintain comprehensive records of test results, calibration logs, material approvals, and QC reports.
- Prepare and present monthly quality performance reports to management, highlighting key findings, trends, and recommendations.
- Ensure all batch records and test documentation are audit-ready and aligned with company and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with clients, consultants, and site engineers to ensure that quality requirements are fully met during project execution.
- Participate in pre-construction and technical meetings to discuss mix design approvals, testing protocols, and compliance measures.
- Provide technical support to the sales and operations teams in addressing customer queries or project-specific requirements.
- Monitor new developments in concrete technology and recommend innovative practices to enhance quality and efficiency.
- Drive initiatives to reduce rejection rates, improve product consistency, and strengthen RMG's reputation for quality.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- 5-7 years' experience in quality control within the ready-mix concrete industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of concrete technology and admixtures.
- Familiarity with ASTM, BS, EN, and ACI standards.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Quality-driven with strong attention to detail.
- Organized, proactive, and able to lead a diverse team.
- Strong problem-solving and reporting skills.
