Our client based in Lonsdale, a leader in the taste & nutrition sector, is seeking a Research Technologist to join their team on a casual assignment commencing Monday 6th October through to 19th December.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong analytical background and hands-on experience with GC-MS to support product development, troubleshooting, and technical communications. You'll be working across internal functions and external customer projects, contributing to innovation and flavor development initiatives.
About the RoleAs a Research Technologist, you will:
- Provide flavour volatile analysis support for the ANZ taste & nutrition business
- Support RD&A flavour creation and application analysis
- Independently operate GC-MS instruments and interpret analytical data
- Prepare samples, perform analyses per SOPs, and generate accurate reports
- Maintain GC-MS calibration and perform basic maintenance
- Follow good lab practices, ensuring a safe, clean and organised workspace
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Food Science, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field
- 1-2 years' experience in an analytical laboratory (flavour or fragrance industry experience highly regarded)
- Must have GC-MS operational and troubleshooting skills
- Solid data interpretation skills, particularly in flavour analysis
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage competing priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Casual role - perfect for someone seeking a short-term contract
