About the Role

icare is hiring a Regulatory Affairs Lead to execute regulatory strategy and engagement across our schemes. This role reports to the Head of Regulatory Affairs and plays a key part in building strong relationships across icare service lines to promote and supporting a robust regulatory engagement framework, achieving business outcomes and supporting team deliverables.

Duties
  • Develop an informed, efficient and effective understanding of business objectives, operations and processes across icare.
  • Support the development and implementation of the regulatory engagement strategy of the Regulatory Affairs team, including developing timelines, coordinating resources, meeting reporting requirements, engaging with stakeholders and supporting related activities to ensure that the outcomes are achieved.
  • Facilitate and guide communication and engagement across the relevant regulatory bodies to the applicable sources of experience within icare, to promote accurate information sharing to drive a relationship of trust and transparency.
  • Act as the conduit for identifying, escalating, and mitigating areas of regulatory risk and the ability to anticipate regulatory challenges based on the organisation's strategy and risk appetite.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders through effective communication to ensure the delivery of collaborative and supportive outcomes.
  • Provide advice and information to the Business on emerging regulatory issues and to support the development and delivery in line with timeframes, objectives and priorities of the Regulatory Affairs team.
  • Coordinate and write responses to letters of enquiry, audits and written submissions from Regulatory stakeholders as required.
  • Deliver where required, a range of administrative services and functions which may include reports, agendas, minutes of meetings, following up on actions and capturing high level information.
  • Ensure complaints and correspondence are accurately captured and triaged for resolution and escalation.
Skills & Experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong experience in commercial insurance and operating within a regulatory environment.
  • A wide range of experience dealing with complex stakeholder groups.
  • Strong and influential written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting formal correspondence, submissions, policy papers and board-level reports
  • 5 + years experience in a similar regulatory affairs or legal/policy role.
  • High level of organisational skills, demonstrating in previous roles which deliver high volumes of output in tight timeframes.
  • Sound knowledge working in the insurance industry.
  • Experience working in the insurance industry, engaging with regulatory bodies.
  • Delivery of high level, fast paced advisory and service-delivery tasks.
