- Develop and implement procurement strategies and plans in line with company goals and objectives.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
- Manage and maintain relationships with existing suppliers, monitoring their performance, and addressing any issues that may arise.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, market conditions, and potential risks and opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their requirements and provide procurement solutions that meet their needs.
- Evaluate supplier performance and conduct regular performance reviews to ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize procurement processes and reduce expenses.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and market conditions to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information.
- Complete the internal supplier approval process to ensure that all suppliers meet the relevant business standards, and all relevant certification and records are up to date.
- Arrange and attend supplier meetings to analyze and discuss supplier performance, as well as gain knowledge of the full portfolio of products and services offered.
- Analyze internal purchasing processes and suggest improvements to ensure continuity of the department's performance.
- Focus on supplier resilience and sustainability.
- Ensure that category strategies promote economic development as per local requirements (In Country Value (ICV .
- Continuous exploration for OEM alternate sources, reduction of single source supplies and reverse engineering opportunities to optimize cost.
- Execute the strategy and tendering process (RFI, RFQ, RFP preparation).
- Ensure PR to PO cycle is very short (days), reflecting the nature of the requests.
- PO to GRN "delivery" lead time is meeting the planned delivery date agreed.
- 5+ years Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role, preferably in a senior capacity.
- Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, market trends, and supplier management.
- Proficient in using procurement software and tools.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Professional Purchasing Manager (CPPM) are preferred.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Experience in manufacturing environment i.e. Cement (1st preference), blocks, pipes or steel industry is preferred to have.
- Experience in strategic procurement or category management of spare parts and maintenance for Job Profile ES Job Description Page 4 of 5 complex projects and industries i.e. Cement, Steel, power, mega manufacturing firms, heavy industries preferred.
- Proven track record of delivery cost optimization programs.
