General Summary

Operate and control the material through cold saw cutting line to ensure material cut to correct lengths and position as requirements.

Smooth operation and safety of the equipment. Monitor various parameters, graphs and be able to modify the parameters/lengths to ensure good Quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Key Accountabilities)

• To operate the Cold saw as per standard working procedures.
• Monitor various monitors, graphs and be able to modify the lengths to ensure good Quality.
• Communicate upstream and downstream to ensure optimal operating conditions and reducing delays
• To be aware of safe procedures required operating and stop/shutdown the Cold saw equipment.
• Monitor all area for any defects or fault and feedback to required personnel.
• To prepare and make the Saws as requirements
• Scale cleaning in and around hot saw area, assist with scrap length removal during weekly down day.
• Able to identify malfunctioning of the equipment and give proper feedback to maintenance crew.
• Maintain length changing records in a well-documented manner.
• To keep the work area always clean and tidy.
• Follow all management directives, regulations and policies relating to safety, quality, health and environment.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with cleaning duties during stoppage and down periods.
• Learn and assist with stacker duties to release personnel for short periods

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities (attributes) required

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

• Knowledge on basic principles of mill process automation.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic knowledge on cold saw operation.
• Good written and spoken English skills.
• Skill to watch monitor, computer or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly and cutting lengths obtained.

Minimum Education Qualifications (Must Haves) Any preferred professional training (Nice to have)

• Industrial Diploma in Mechanical or Metallurgical, Electrical or Instrumentation engineering

Professional Experience (Must haves) Previous Experience/exposure Recommendations (Nice to have)

• Minimum 5 years Experience as pulpit operator of which at least 2years as main control pulpit operator in a bar or rod mill.
