About the Opportunity
The Inspections Arborist is responsible for coordinating the management of Council's urban tree network, including inspections, risk assessments, programmed maintenance, and renewal programs in addition to ensuring clearances required by Council's Road Management Plan and Electric Line Clearance Plan are adhered to.
You will provide specialised arboriculture advice to stakeholders and help minimise public liability by generating tree works through inspections in addition to managing approved contractors. This role will play a crucial part in improving the shire's urban forests and creating a greener Glenelg Shire Council in line with long term council plans and community feedback.

What you need to Succeed
The successful candidate will be someone passionate about trees, who values working closely within a small team to achieve tangible change within the community.
To thrive in this role, you will need:
- Formal qualifications in Arboriculture or significant trade experience are a must.
- Experience in quantified risk assessment (QTRA, TRAQ, VALID) highly desirable.
- Skills and knowledge with relevant Australian Standards and their application in the management trees.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain both written and electronic records.
- Competency and ability to operate a range of plant and equipment applicable to Arboriculture.
- Ability to manage your work autonomously while working in a team.
