We're looking for someone who knows their way around figures, loves a good financial challenge and can turn complex data into clear insights.

If this sounds like you, an exciting and rare opportunity exists to join our Finance team in the position of Finance Coordinator.

In this role, you would contribute significantly to the effective operation of the Finance team with an aim of delivering high quality, efficient and accurate financial information to enable the Council to make informed decisions.

In addition to your excellent organisational, time management, communication and listening skills, other non-negotiable skills required to perform this role effectively are prioritisation and adaptability skills to manage a changing work environment and leadership skills to lead and motivate the team to achieve their goals and objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Direct Reports - Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Finance Officers.
  • Active coordination, preparation and management of internal and external audits and implementation of audit actions.
  • Coordination, preparation and management of Statutory and other reporting requirements so that they are submitted on time.
  • Review and continuous improvement of systems, processes, policies and procedures to ensure robust accounting and internal controls are in place to ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Lead the Finance team in the delivery of quality financial advice, support and analysis to unit managers to enable them to achieve organisational goals and unit objectives.

What you need to Succeed

  • Be tertiary qualified in Commerce or Business, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Have skills and experience to enable you to lead, motivate and develop our specialist Finance team.
  • have demonstrated experience in building and maintaining positive relationships across an organisation; and
  • Align strongly with our organisational values of Respect, Integrity, Teamwork, Service Excellence and Innovation.
