The Head of Credit is responsible for leading the credit underwriting function within the bank, ensuring the effective assessment, approval, and monitoring of credit exposures. This role is critical in maintaining the bank's credit quality and balancing growth objectives with prudent risk management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute credit underwriting strategies aligned with the bank's goals; drive innovation across traditional and digital asset-backed lending; oversee integration of credit processes; serve as a key executive committee board member.
  • Credit Decision-Making: Lead efficient credit underwriting aligned with risk appetite, ensuring high-quality standards and compliance; approve complex credit applications; assess financial risks and provide sound recommendations while monitoring counterparty exposure.
  • Portfolio Management: Monitor credit quality, manage concentration risks, and provide early warnings to address deteriorating credit conditions.
  • Policy Oversight: Design and enhance credit underwriting policies to align with regulatory and business needs while ensuring market best practices.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Relationship Managers and Risk teams, advising on balanced risk-reward credit decisions.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and manage the underwriting team, promoting accountability and skill enhancement.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to credit regulations, monitor industry developments, and maintain reporting transparency with regulators and the board.
Key Skills, Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 12+ years of experience in risk management, credit application and credit underwriting discipline.
  • Master's degree in business administration or finance.
  • Related professional certification such as CFA or FRM qualification.
