The OpportunityYou'll lead the legal function end-to-end, partnering directly with the CEO and senior leadership team to support strategic and transactional initiatives. This is not a purely advisory role; you'll be deeply involved in the detail, drafting and negotiating key commercial and funding agreements, and ensuring the business grows with confidence within the regulatory framework.
Responsibilities- Act as the primary legal advisor to the CEO, Board, and Executive team
- Structure and negotiate complex lending, funding and securitisation deals
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including loan and vendor agreements
- Oversee corporate governance, risk and compliance frameworks
- Advise on financial services regulation, including NCCP, ASIC, and AML/CTF requirements
- Manage disputes and external counsel as needed
- Provide commercially sound, solutions-focused advice that supports business growth
- 8+ years PQE gained within financial services, banking or a fintech environment
- Proven experience in deal structuring and transactional support
- Confident working "on the tools" - drafting, negotiating and executing agreements
- Strong understanding of lending, treasury and consumer credit regulation
- Highly collaborative with exceptional communication and stakeholder skills
- Comfortable operating independently in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial business
