This well-established civil engineering contractor has a strong reputation for delivering complex infrastructure projects across Scotland. With a focus on water, marine, and energy sectors, they are known for their technical excellence and collaborative approach. Due to a strong pipeline of work, they are seeking an experienced freelance Quantity Surveyor to support ongoing projects.
Your new role
As a Freelance Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of civil engineering projects from procurement through to final account. Your duties will include:
- Preparing and reviewing subcontractor packages and valuations
- Monitoring project costs and reporting on commercial performance
- Managing change control and variations
- Liaising with site teams and clients to ensure accurate cost reporting
- Supporting the project team with contractual and commercial advice
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the civil engineering sector
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
