This is a 8 month fixed term, part-time (0.6FTE) position commencing as soon as possible with possible extension (12 months) and/or permanency

The School Curriculum and Standards Division provides administrative and secretariat services for and implements the decisions of the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority). The Authority provides quality curriculum, assessment and standards to enable all Western Australian students to become confident, creative learners and active, informed citizens who contribute positively to society.

The Role

The Executive Support Officer is a key administrative role that provides high-level executive and operational support to the Directorate. This position is responsible for managing confidential communications, correspondence, briefing notes, and reports while ensuring the smooth coordination of travel, accommodation, appointments, and enquiries. The officer will establish and maintain effective administrative business systems to enhance workflow efficiency and support officers in the Directorate with administrative matters. Additionally, the role involves monitoring work progress, conducting research, and managing deliverables to support the Directorate's strategic and operational functions.

In this role, the Executive Support Officer oversees the coordination of committees and working groups, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and documenting minutes. The officer also manages complex administrative processes, maintains key stakeholder relationships, and ensures timely responses to enquiries from schools, education systems, and the broader community. Financial administration, record management, and compliance with departmental guidelines are key aspects of the position. By fostering collaboration within the Directorate and maintaining robust business systems, the Executive Support Officer plays a vital role in supporting the efficiency and effectiveness of the branch's operations.

  • Demonstrated well developed computer skills, including a working knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, word processing and experience using an electronic records management system.
