IT TAKES A SUNNY DISPOSITION! Collins Dictionary states a sunny disposition as Someone who is usually cheerful and happy. Our individuals can often pick up on how you are feeling. If you are sad, they are sad. If you are mad, this can affect their behavior. It is imperative that when you are spending time with our individuals, that you are happy and cheerful.
IT ALSO TAKES Proof of education, a Class E Driver License, Proof of Insurance, and proof you can work in the United States.
Job Summary:
Assist individuals with disabilities by implementing and documenting their programs according to their Annual Plans. Work with the Lead DSP and Program Specialist to develop, implement, and review each person's Person-Centered plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow Person-Centered Plans for hygiene, clothing, meals, budgeting, and shopping.
- Complete daily logs (T-Logs).
- Attend annual planning meetings with individuals.
- Help with medication supervision and medical treatments.
- Check homes for maintenance and report repairs.
- Assist with household chores as needed.
- Drive and transport individuals to programs, appointments, and outings.
- Teach and support different transportation methods.
- Write incident and event reports.
- Provide companionship, emotional support, and behavioral help.
- Foster positive relationships with colleagues and supervisors.
Skills & Requirements:
- Attention to detail and organization.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good communication in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Ability to pass medication, first aid, and CPR training.
- Able to lift/move up to 50 lbs. and operate lifts/wheelchairs.
- Valid driver's license with Class C Kansas or Class E in Missouri designation
- Professional, flexible, and positive attitude.
Other Info:
- Work Environment: Group home, individual's home or similar; exposure to human biological elements.
- Schedule: Full-time, 4-5 days per week, 3240 hours.
- Travel: Daily local driving.
- Education: High school diploma or GED (required).
- Experience: 1+ year preferred.
