The Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage is seeking a delivery focused and values driven leader to step into a newly created Director People and Culture role designed to elevate how we partner with the business and deliver people services that are fit for purpose, responsive, and future ready.

In this pivotal role you will lead the strategic and operational delivery of people and culture solutions that build capability, enable high performance and foster a culture of excellence. You will also be instrumental in embedding a new people and culture operating model that elevates service delivery, strengthens business partnership and creates value across the Department.

We're looking for someone who thrives on thinking through complexity, leads with clarity and brings others with them, motivating teams to align their passion with our purpose and deliver on what matters most.

This position will be filled through a Senior Executive Service fixed term contract for up to 5 years, and may be used to fill future similar fixed term positions that may arise within the Department and across the WA public sector in the next 12 months from the initial date of appointment.

Our Perth office is located in a prime position within the Perth CBD, above the Perth Underground rail and close to the Wellington Street Bus Station and City CAT services.

To be successful for this position, you need to demonstrate:
  • Experience in the strategic design, delivery, and management of integrated people and culture programmes, workforce management strategies, change and transformation, and human resource service delivery;
  • Substantial experience and record of achievement in managing a large and complex human resources portfolio to achieve organisational outcomes;
  • Demonstrated leadership behaviours in the context of an Executive Leader for this position.

Core leadership behaviours outlined in Leadership Expectations are applicable to this role and should be demonstrated in the context of an Executive Leader. The expected behaviours may be assessed during the recruitment and selection process.
