Senior Executive Service (SES) role offering an attractive remuneration package for a fixed term appointment of up to five (5) years.
Lead strategic financial operations at the highest level, influence major decisions, and ensure financial excellence in a complex, dynamic environment.
The roleAs Director Finance, you will also serve as Chief Finance Officer and oversee all operations of the Finance Directorate. You will provide high level strategic and technical financial advice to the Director General and Corporate Executive, across finance, accounting and procurement matters.
Your responsibilities include shaping and driving strategic financial planning, reporting, and procurement initiatives, overseeing budget development, and managing corporate budget submissions. Proven experience in financial planning, budget management and accounting services within a medium sized complex organisation will be key to your success.
Deliver strategic financial management and ensure compliance with the Financial Management Act 2006 and other relevant legislation. Engage effectively with stakeholders, demonstrating high level communication, negotiation and consultation skills.
EligibilityTo be eligible for fixed term employment you must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or have a visa that allows indefinite residence and work in Australia. Applicants must also consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain the required clearance before commencing employment.
Any required qualification (e.g., tertiary qualification in finance, commerce or business and membership of CPA Australia, ICA Australia, the National Institute of Accountants or an equivalent recognised overseas body) must be provided with evidence and, where necessary, assessment by the Overseas Qualifications Unit.

- Demonstrated high level experience in managing and delivering strategic financial management and a broad range of finance services, with compliance to the Financial Management Act 2006 and other legislation.
- Demonstrated strategic leadership and management experience to achieve agreed performance outcomes.
- Demonstrated superior stakeholder management, communication, negotiation and consultation skills.
