The Department of Housing and Urban Development's (DHUD)primary objective is the delivery of homes and housing options forSouth Australians. DHUD's mission focuses on coordinatingvarious portfolios related to housing, housing infrastructure,urban development, and planning. Whilst the Office of the Valuer-General (OVG) Directorate ispart of DHUD, we are an independent Office with our own goals andmission - to deliver fair and equitable statutory valuationsforall properties in the State. We are primarily staffed withspecialist property valuers and support staff and are responsibleand accountable for the State's Land Valuation System andensuring that the functions undertaken by the Service Provider,Land Services SA (LSSA), in performing statutory valuations acrossthe State are compliant and effectively administered in accordancewith the Valuation of Land Act 1971 and the Land Services Agreement. The OVG also supports government decision makingthrough the provision of professional valuation advice andstrategic services.

The Role:This is a rare opportunity to join the Valuer-General'sleadership team, providing strategic leadership, expert advice andresponsibility for the OVG's Coordination and Statutoryvaluation teams. With management and oversight of thevaluation grievance processes, stakeholder management and customerservice, this role works closely with its teams, other OVG leadersand our Service Provider of valuation services.

About You:OVG is seeking to recruit a valuation industry expert withstrategic leadership skills, a passion for the property industryand excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.If you are a results-driven visionary leader and are seekinga new opportunity in your valuation career - look nofurther!
To be successful in this position, you must be able todemonstrate experience across the following areas (refer Essentialcriteria in the Role Statement for more details):
- Effective leadership and management experience
- Knowledge of valuation principles, practices andmethodologies and expertise in statutory valuations includingadherence to objectivity and fairness.
- Strategic planning, business improvement and providingprofessional consultancy services and advice to influencedecisions that significantly impact the State and/orindustry.
- Provision of statutory advice and services including themanagement of grievance processes
- Leading negotiations and engaging and communicating withclients and stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
- Excellent organisational skills including development,implementation and ongoing improvement of processes andorganisation.

Essential Qualifications and LicencesTo be eligible you must:
- Be qualified as a Valuer in accordance with the LandValuers Act 1994 and the Land Valuers Regulations2024;
- Be eligible for or have a current Associate or Fellow levelMembership of the Australian Property Institute as a CertifiedPractising Valuer (CPV).
- Have practised as a land valuer (whether in the service ofthe Government or privately) for a period (whether continuousor aggregate) of at least 5 years; and
- Have a current Driver's Licence.
- Successful applicants may be required to obtain asatisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal HistoryCheck or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewalwill be required every 3 years.
- Some out of hours and weekend work may be required.
- Some intra/interstate travel may be required.
PO5 - $124,449 min - $130,253 max plus(superannuation + leave loading)
