Data Center Engineering Operations Engineer , AWS Infrastructure Operations

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is hiring for an Engineering Technician to support data center operations. The role ensures overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels in data center operations, focusing on the operation and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment that supports mission-critical servers and 99.999% uptime goals.

The Data Center Engineering Technician provides hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting for Data Center Operation's Mission Critical Facilities, including stand-by diesel generators and fuel systems, three-phase electrical systems (switchgear, UPSs, PDUs, and related systems), batteries, CRACs, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, water chemical systems, air handlers, pumps, and motors.

• Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance
• Perform limited maintenance tasks, including filter changes, battery system PMs, and Rack PDU & Rack ATS replacements
• Perform root cause analysis for operational issues
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events
• Ensure all personnel on-site follow safety protocols
• Work on-call and on a rotating schedule as needed
• Take daily operational readings and provide metrics reporting to senior engineers
• Support concepts such as ticketing systems, root cause analysis, and task prioritization

• Associates Degree or Technical Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant discipline
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• 2+ years of experience in a Data Center or Mission Critical Environment

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant discipline
• 4+ years of Data Center Operation experience
• Fundamental knowledge of network design and layout, and low voltage (copper/fiber) cabling
• 2+ years with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
