About the role and responsibilitiesWe're seeking an Area Manager to join our dynamic Fulfillment Center/Sort Center/Delivery stations. Your main responsibilities include managing one of the main teams in your FC-receive, stow, pick, pack or ship-and overseeing a team of approximately 80 to 120 associates, ensuring all workflows run smoothly and customer expectations are met or exceeded.
Key responsibilities- Safeguard your team's safety by promoting Amazon's Health and Safety standards.
- Lead cross functional teams tasked with solving operational problems.
- Uphold Amazon's high standards of process quality.
- Maintain inventory accuracy.
- Strive to improve and streamline processes.
- Become a subject matter expert on larger FC processes and activities.
- Actively share and promote best practices with your colleagues and network.
- Provide training and integration for your team, ensuring continuous professional development.
- Drive performance and KPI attainment through sound judgement and realistic target setting.
- Maintain motivation, engagement, and performance across the team.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
- Degree in logistics, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent qualification.
- Strong team player who thrives working with others.
- Natural at motivating others around you.
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical capabilities, including Dive Deep analysis.
- Quick thinker able to act decisively in a fast paced environment.
- Willing and able to work flexible schedules and shifts, committing the required time.
- 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience.
- Degree in Engineering, Operations, or Supply Chain is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment.
- Ability to motivate others in a deadline driven environment.
- Basic understanding of Lean and Six Sigma.
