Our client is recruiting for a Business Planning and Research Analyst to support the strategic and budgeting planning process by conducting market research, analyzing industry trends, evaluating business performance, and generating insights to guide decision-making across the group or subsidiaries. The role plays a key part supporting strategic initiatives, and preparing materials for executive leadership and board discussions.

Strategic Research and Analysis
  • Conduct in-depth research on market dynamics, industry benchmarks, competitor strategies, and macroeconomic indicators.
  • Track regulatory, political, and economic developments that impact the group's operations and expansion plans.
  • Analyze industry reports, financial publications, and third-party studies to extract relevant insights.
Strategic Planning Support
  • Assist in the development of annual strategic plans and 3-5 year business roadmaps.
  • Evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and investment strategies.
  • Prepare business case models, risk assessments, and strategic scenario analysis.
Performance Analysis & Reporting
  • Monitor KPIs and strategic initiatives to evaluate progress against the group's goals.
  • Support in preparing monthly/quarterly strategy dashboards and performance scorecards.
  • Collaborate with finance and business units to track NOPAT, ROI, and other metrics.
Presentation and Communication
  • Prepare high-quality reports, board decks, and executive presentations.
  • Synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Support strategy workshops, steering committees, and internal strategy communications.
Requirements
  • 5-7 years of experience in FP&A, forecasting, budgeting or business planning and at least 2 years within a group or multi-entity setup.
  • Must have a Degree/MBA in Finance or CA, ACCA, CFA, CIMA qualification.
  • 3-5 years of experience in strategy, management consulting, investment research, or corporate planning, financial modeling with strong evaluation skills.
  • SAP literacy and practical use of BI or planning tools for forecasting and reporting (Power BI, etc)
  • Exposure to enterprise risk management and translating controls into actionable risk plans.
