Business Development Manager - MICE

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our Sales and Marketing team at Shangri-La Qaryat al Beri, Abu Dhabi. The successful applicant will have a good understanding of the UAE market and a track record in identifying and creating lucrative business partnerships within the region.

• Experience in Business Development / Sales & Marketing in a luxury property.
• Strong OPMS knowledge.
• Ability to network, building strong & meaningful business relationships.
• Experience in the local market (UAE as well as other GCC).
• Oversees the Group's planning and related staff to ensure the planning and delivery of successful hotel events.
• Develop a flexible sales strategy to reflect the achievement of hotel budget commitment and which responds to local market conditions.
• Ensures products and/or services provided by Group Planning meet or exceed guest expectations and build customer loyalty through product and/or service excellence.

• Develop & Execute effective Business Development Strategies.
• Be familiar with and use the marketing software solutions.
• Manage the daily operation of Event Planning to achieve or exceed budget expectations.
• Develop relationships with local clients, direct bookers and agency bookers to ensure a strong base of new and repeat business and confidence in the hotel and booking process.
• Accurately identify customer needs, draw up well presented and customized proposals in line with brand policies and standards of presentation.
• Other duties related to the Business Development Manager function.

The hotel comprises 213 luxurious guestrooms and suites and 6 four bedroom villas with private pools, all furnished to the highest standards in a modern Arabic style. To meet the needs of long staying guests, the hotel offers 161 fully furnished spacious serviced apartments ranging from studios to four bedroom units. The hotel is located within the acclaimed Qaryat Al Beri complex, on a one kilometre stretch of private beach overlooking the strait that separates Abu Dhabi Island from the mainland. The hotel is conveniently located next to a souk, offering a variety of shops under one roof. It is only a ten minute drive from the city's international airport, five minutes from the golf course and the Convention Centre, and 15 minutes from the Corniche and the city centre.
