APS 5 - Project Support Officer

The Role

Defence is seeking to recruit a range of highly motivated, resilient professionals with a willingness to learn and grow a career within Project and Program Management to fill critical vacancies across two Defence Delivery Groups.

As a Project Support Officer, your key duties may include:

• Contributing to the development and maintenance of project planning and performance processes in accordance with agreed procedures and performance standards.
• Assisting with preparations for project testing, evaluation, and acceptance programs.
• Applying project management methodologies to administrative and technical activities.
• Researching, drafting, and preparing briefs, correspondence, and reports, including submissions for committee consideration.
• Working collaboratively, operating as an effective team member, and providing constructive feedback.
• Engaging with relevant stakeholders and understanding their expectations and concerns.
• Adjusting project management methodologies to comply with legislative, policy, and regulatory frameworks.
• Resolving problems using expertise and taking the initiative to identify alternative courses of action.

Salary and Location

• $86,887 - $93,066 + up to 15.4% Superannuation
• Canberra - ACT

Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG)

CASG exists to meet the Australian Defence Force's (ADF) military equipment and supply requirements, identified by Defence and approved by Government. CASG manages a multi-billion dollar portfolio of complex, high-profile acquisitions and sustainment activities supporting armed forces.

Defence Intelligence Group (DIG)
