About UsThe Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission is a specialist industrial tribunal and court of record. Established by the Industrial Relations Act 1979 (WA), the Commission resolves disputes about industrial matters, including any matter relating to the work, privileges, rights or duties of employers or employees in industry.
The Department of the Registrar provides administration, advice and support to enable the general community, employee and employer associations, industrial practitioners and government agencies to make applications to the Commission, the Industrial Magistrates Court and the Industrial Appeal Court.

As our Accountant, you'll be at the heart of ensuring effective delivery of a broad range of financial services-from accounts payable and receivable, cash management, corporate credit card administration and fixed asset control. You'll work closely with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, ensuring financial operations run smoothly and are compliant with relevant policies and procedures.
You'll also provide key support to the Finance Manager in financial and management reporting, taxation and statutory obligations, analysis, and audit engagements, while contributing to strong governance through the administration of contracts and procurement processes. You will help to shape policies and procedures and champion these messages throughout the Department.

- Demonstrated experience in financial accounting, controls, processing, statutory and monthly financial reporting.
- Demonstrated experience in the use of Financial Management Information Systems and a high level of Excel skills.
- Lead collectively: You seek to build and maintain effective working relationships with others and are mindful of the partnerships that support your efforts to deliver value for your team and work area.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting which provides eligibility for membership to CPA Australia or ICAA.

There is one permanent full-time position available.
Other ConditionsThis process may be used to fill other similar permanent or fixed term positions that may arise throughout the Department for the 6 months following the approval of the initial recruitment decision.
Australian Permanent Residency status is a minimum requirement for permanent appointment to the WA Public Sector. Appointment will be subject to a successful Criminal Record Screening clearance.
