The Senior Revenue Cycle Application Analyst is responsible for supporting the design, optimization, and ongoing management of Cerner Revenue Cycle solutions. This position plays a strategic role in aligning financial systems with operational goals by collaborating across Revenue Cycle, HIM, Registration, and Clinical departments. The analyst ensures compliance, system integrity, and workflow efficiency through expert-level configuration, data validation, and systems integration, while contributing to the evolution of enterprise billing and reimbursement capabilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, Information Systems, Finance, or related field OR 8+ years of equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of six (6) years' experience with Oracle Cerner Revenue Cycle tools.
  • Demonstrated expertise in billing, charge capture, claims, denials, and payment posting workflows.
  • Proficiency with Cerner modules and tools including Charge Services, Contract Management, DA2, and Reporting.
  • Experience with system testing, validation, go-live, and post-live support.
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration and communication skills with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Manage relationships with trust, honesty, respect, and integrity.
  • Ability to consistently provide world-class and excellent customer service.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of Cerner back-end and front-end integrations.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations impacting hospital billing and reimbursement.
  • Experience supporting large-scale EHR integration or financial systems projects in a healthcare setting.
  • Cerner or Oracle advanced training in Revenue Cycle and Patient Accounting modules.
  • Working knowledge of clearinghouse interfaces and remittance systems.
  • Advanced skills in other areas of Cerner platform and ERPs
  • Experience in other third-party applications


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the optimization of Cerner Patient Accounting workflows for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with Revenue Cycle, Finance, HIM, and Registration teams to ensure technology alignment with operational goals.
  • Perform gap analyses, develop future-state designs, and recommend process improvements based on regulatory and industry best practices.
  • Oversee testing, validation, issue resolution, and training initiatives related to billing, claims, and collections.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and participate in dashboards or reporting optimization using Cerner DA2 or external tools.
  • Ensure data integrity, billing rule accuracy, and claims processing performance through configuration reviews.
  • Act as liaison between internal stakeholders and vendor technical support teams.
  • Maintain documentation, workflows, and training content for long-term sustainability.

  • Other duties as assigned


Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:

  • Regularly on-site during scheduled shifts and quickly responsive, remote support when allowed or approved, occasional travel.
  • Primarily office-based, frequent computer use; could involve long-term walking, standing, bending, or assisting with physical aspects of projects in clinical or administrative areas. Rounding during go-lives is common.
  • Lifting and carrying of IT hardware and materials up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Participation in scheduled shift coverage and on-call support for emergencies, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and service-oriented communication in all interactions.
