Overview:
Trumark is seeking an experienced paralegal to join the Legal Department and report directly to the General Counsel. The ideal candidate should thrive managing multiple, complex commercial real estate transactions and demonstrate the ability to work independently, think critically, exercise good judgment, and take initiative. Applicants must be willing to roll up their sleeves on the job and embrace new subject areas and undertake tasks outside of their prior experience with enthusiasm and confidence. Additional responsibilities and requirements for the position include, but are not limited to:
Essential Duties:
- Coordinate all aspects of real estate transactions, including acquisitions and financings
- Regularly serve as point of contact for attorneys, lenders, title insurance companies, and other transaction parties
- Conduct title review, prepare title memos, title objection letters and resolve title defects with title companies and outside counsel
- Manage critical dates and deadlines related to loan closings and land acquisition closings
- Prepare real estate due diligence checklists, schedules of critical dates, and closing document packages
- Maintain the companys entity portfolio, including but not limited to preparing formation documents, drafting certificates, consents and resolutions, and preparing and filing annual reports
- Support attorney drafting and revision of transactional documents, correspondence and legal memos
- Manage and update legal files
- Communicate regularly with General Counsel, Division Presidents, Chief Financial Officer, and other executive staff
Education and Additional Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree and Paralegal Certificate
- At least five (5) years of experience with real estate transactions and financings; including experience working with property developers either in a law firm or with an in-house legal team
- Extraordinary organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task efficiently, and think independently
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to perform effectively with little or no supervision and within established time limits
- Regular and predictable in-office attendance is an essential job function
- Familiarity with Legal Tracker
