Maindutiesand expectations of our volunteering role:
- Provide a welcoming,kind,and supportive human connection to all court users (witnesses, victims, accused, and family and friends)
- Actively engage with court users, either face to face or virtually, supporting and assisting them to navigateand fully participate intheir court experience
- Recogniseand respond toindividualservice user needsand concerns
- Provide service userswith support, information and referral options and choices
- Work independently as well as within a team
- Follow instructions and practice guidelines
- Have good digital literacy and confidence; record keeping, emailing, communication and information sharing
- Adhere to privacy policy requirements
Our volunteersmust have strong verbal andinterpersonalcommunication skills, confidence using technology (CRM, digital communication- email, internet searching (laptop or tablet) Smart phone Apps) and the ability to foster inclusivity and a person-centred approach tosupportingall court users, impartially and non-judgmentally.This multifaceted and interesting roleisbest suited to someone who is proactive, a 'people-person', passionate aboutimproving access to justice andiswantingto volunteer on anongoingand regularbasis.
A comprehensive 12-week program is provided to all trainee Networkers (Volunteers)
Time required9am-5pm Monday, Wednesday or ThursdayOne day per week, regular volunteering, preferably weekly or fortnightly
