Details of the role: Join our Conversation Skills Group (formerly Chatterbox) for young children who are learning to communicate but have not yet learned to speak.Parents know that communication starts long before children learn to speak. The way a child may use vocalisations, pointing or facial expressions to get their message across. Our Conversation Skills Group helps you recognise a child's unique ways of communicating and different ways you can respond to encourage their communication and verbalisation.Conversation Skills Group is a group-based early communication intervention for children and their parents. The group runs weekly during school-term dates or as an intensive school-holiday program and is suitable for children who are at risk of language delay or have a diagnosed language delay. The program includes language stimulation techniques and parent training to facilitate and improve early communication skills. Set up and pack down of activities. Encouraging clients to participate.Please note this volunteering opportunity is only open to those who are studying Speech Pathology, or those who are current Speech Pathologists.
